Steps To Reproduce: Join game through matchmaking, or join off of a friend’s game invite. Crashes before even starting to load in. Some other friends in our group with “older” saves have the same issue.
If I start a new save file and try joining, I can join no problem.

I’m not sure if I understand the question.
I crash when joining any MP game on my current save. If I delete my save, start a new game and try joining again I’m able to join fine. Some other friends are having the same issue.
this would be worth sending the save game to the team
I would love to send a save to the team. What’s the best way to do it?

Using the save you sent we have been able to reproduce this crash. A high priority ticket has been created for handling the issue.
If anyone else is experiencing this on PC and would be up for sending their save file don’t hesitate to do so following the steps in the comment above!
