I’m playing old GZ again, any recommendations?

How did you light it?

As I approached the campfire, it got “selected”. Then I “executed” it and the most beautiful fire came on. I’m quite sure that @Saddletank tried it too back then, but I don’t think it worked for him.

No, don’t think so. It was back in September '19. There also was the “flaming sword” on the first island, but that was an Easter egg :slightly_smiling_face: It stood in a campfire that lit when you approached and interacted with it.

For me it worked today but I tried it for the first time as I never heard of that before, too, like @Madchaser
Sadly it was daylight… :man_facepalming:

Edit: P.S.: oh, I did that in the up to date Steam version of the game.

So cool, @Kimosabe_X ! Thanks for clarifying this. For a second I wondered (like @Gysbert and the second Mkay magazine) if I had dreamed the whole thing

Now the question is if it can be done more than once. Like the Volvo DeLorean - I could only make it take off and fly away one single time …

It worked for me too. I will re-check if it can be interacted with more than once.

I get such a kick out of discoveries like this! For me, it only triggered after starting a fresh world, so maybe it’s a one and done thing on Xbox. The DeLorean Easter egg was the same way, worked again in a new world. Awesome to see it fly again after all these years!

There is at least one more that is interactive, or maybe it is best called re-active since the player doesn’t get a prompt with this one. When I went to the “Gun in Fire Easter egg” location the campfire was not lit, but it started burning when I got close to it.

Need to check this one later too, to see if it keeps doing this. You know, like the dead roar of that Tank on Archipelago, it always kept roaring on approach. :sunglasses:

Maybe it’s just an assett which loads with delay.

Hi @Madchaser , I’m a bit thick :slightly_smiling_face: … I didn’t quite understand the “asset which loads with delay” part of the sentence … well, the entire sentence to be honest

Could you please explain for this weaker mind?

Excuse me. Maybe it’s just bad english of a german.

So: what if the fire is always there, but the game just renders it if we get really close, not because of a Trigger, but because of a bad engine. Just like some trees pop in quite late. You know?

Nah, I don’t think that’s it. I was pretty close to it when it happened.
When we first find this campfire with a gun in the fire pit, it catches fire when you want to pick up the gun. Somehow, now without the gun there it still has that catching fire mechanism. Maybe the trigger was reset with the last update. I have to go back to see if the fire is out again, and if my approaching triggers it again.

But if it turns out be a render issue, it would be a bummer.

Sure, now I understand. And the tree-thing happens al the time on X-box  Anyway, now I’m certain that it triggered due to @Kimosabe_X , @Gysbert , and @TimData 's investigations :slightly_smiling_face:

Your English is absolutely fine. I wish I was just half as good at German …
