Resistance Report - 2024-10-18

Patience is a virtue. :coffee:

I think it will at least be after the Halloween event. You don’t want them to just throw it together to meet the super soon statement. Also they should not release it right for the December holydays, because if something goes wrong all devs will be of skiing.

There could be a few of these causing a super slight delay in the announcement of the release date.

Two weeks is not “super soon”. Super soon is a few days at most.

Its better to say “I can tell you more in a few weeks” and keep expectations realistic.

Translation:

“When I say ‘super soon,’ it might mean whenever the universe decides to cooperate! So, keep an eye out; updates will come as super soon as the stars align!”

This is why it’s difficult to promise things ahead of time. You can either try to set an optimistic goal, or
choose to be quiet until you know for sure. Either way you risk disappointing somebody.

I still think that communication is far better than saying nothing at all.

If there would be communication…
For me it’s more like “saying nothing at all”.
Or worse: if after a “super soon” there is nothing following for weeks, it’s a lie somehow.

Why don’t they give us more small updates?
I would even be glad to read some approximatly dates (i.e. “in october”), but then a week later getting a short message that there are still some more things to work out so that the date has to be moved to november.
That would be honest and transparent.

So maybe few words on the status, but more often, instead of many words once every three months.

And by the way… Some small teasers on what they are planing, maybe not even a full public roadmap, but some of their ideas (where we could also take part with our ideas) would also be great. Like it was in the past…

Carni only promised more information, not a full update or major content drop. Surely there must be parts of the update that are ready enough to share as a teaser or even just a simple, reassuring message like, “Hey everyone, things are progressing as planned, and I’ll have a teaser for you in a few weeks.”

Using terms like “super soon” and then going silent is a recurring issue with this team’s communication style. We often get months of silence, followed by an optimistic “super soon,” only to be met with more silence for months after. This pattern leaves players feeling disconnected and uncertain about what to expect.

X Box series X

I’m sorry if this isn’t in the correct thread, I’ve logged in tonight to find all my game data wiped, I’ve never had this issue before, is anyone else experiencing this, not posted in quite a while , hope everyone is good and still exploring👍

Please make a new topic for this in the bug report section.

Apologies for making it feel like I was leading you on with the wording “super soon”, that was not my intention  In terms of game dev cycles, it is super soon, but I didn’t consider how that specific word might feel to y’all. Also, there was a slight delay in the actual announcement, which made things worse. We’ll be in touch… super soon.

Thanks for the feedback.

Which kind of “super soon”?

Read the rest of the statement, not just the last sentence. But I will say that last sentence was a nice touch.

I am super sure, SR_Carni is messing with you.
