(Video) Story questions regarding a video essay

Hello everyone!
Recently I started working on a video essay- type project that focuses on the story and world of Generation Zero, because I wanted to give GZ one last send-off after the Showdown Update released.
I want to recap the story in its entirety.
Im still in a very early stage and Im neither a professional editor nor a native-English speaker, therefore you can already imagine the time this project will take and the quality it might be achieve (so please dont expect too much  ).
When it comes to this post:
I already have some knowledge when it comes to GZ story, still I can always forget parts or have questions, therefore I wanted to use this post to ask these questions.
Anyone can help and I hope I can learn alot from you guys! ^^
Feel free to ask questions yourself aswell, this might prove whether or not some of my theories even add up.
I hope to release parts of the video once they are finished in order to get feedback^^
Until then,
I wish you all the best

You can check out this topic, with the finished “Final Showdown chapter”.

thanks alot, looks really promising^^

Heyo! Hope Everyone had a nice Christmas and happy new year celebratrions!
Here Is my first question regarding the story: Is Svante Influencing the nature and decisions of the FNIX programm or is his conciousness a mere puppet used by FNIX to enable it to become self aware.
Did Svante die back before Cataclysmn day, or did he live on in FNIX.
Please state sources, it would help me alot!^^
(Also great summary)

Good question! it’s a bit like your name Goldiii / Max, it leaves to speculation if you are male or female.
Maxine or Maximillian.

It was believed by the FOA research team, that Svante went in a vegetative state with no hope of recovery, after the initially successful experiment, and after 17 days Dr. Ingrid Granqvist decided to halt life support and cease any palliative care. So Svante died.
Source: Ingrid’s resignation letter / mission “Behind the curtain”.

But FNIX came to existence during Svantes brain/machine experimental surgery, and it is highly likely that parts of Svante personality were merged with FNIX code.

So far I know, it’s not certain Svante had influence in FNIX actions. In the mission “Something worth guarding” it is suggested Svante’s humor is used. Source: spoken text during the mission.

Tatiana asks: What do you know about this “Prefrontal core”?

And Veronika answers: I’m pretty sure it’s a brain pun. It’s exactly the kind of joke Svante enjoyed…
If i’m right, the prefrontal core coordinates the FNIX network central intelligence.
The part that uses Svante’s voice…

Another hint: In the mission FNIX Rising / Good night
You can read: The most personal question for Veronika: is FNIX really the same being as Svante?

Another hint: FNIX used Svantes voice
Source: Spoken text during the mission Piece by Piece

FNIX: “I am amazed at how quickly you adapt.”

Veronika: “That voice…”
“Svante… Is that you?”

All these suggestions can make us speculate that Svante does have some sort of influence. So what do other gamers think?

Already thanks for the really helpful answer and the work you have put into it @Gysbert !
What Im taking from this is, that Svante is more than likely not in control and only parts of his characteristics (Humor/Speech/ maybe even self awareness as a whole) are being used.
This would support why FNIX does so cold hearted things, like treading humans as rescourses and even killing Ingrid, Svantes life long friend.
If Svante does have some kind of control, he would have probably stepped in at that point.
Thank you, this was one of my biggest questions after the Showdown update.
