3d Modlel of all of the machines to buy in real life

So I thought that something nice for players to buy would be a mini figure in real life and it would be a 3d model and you could have one of every type of Machine and it could be 3d printed for a 3d printer

I would buy one. :+1:

And I think a lot of people would and I think that it would be a great way for them to raise money to hire more people for the is game and to continue to make this a great game

So you think this is something the devs should do?

Don’t you worry that some people would think that the devs have more important things to do? There are also a lot of people who lost their trust in the devs. Figurines would be farthest in their minds. They wont even buy a 3 euro DLC.

Well, Avalanche / Systemic Reaction have shared the 3D models with at least one guy who’s work is incredible.

He’s also on Twitch as “thebusybuilder”. I put a link here originally but it showed a mature content warning.

I’d love a kit to build, or even a pre-painted diorama.

I am mature, can you send me the link.

Oh god yes, the devs have more important things to do, but they’ve already distributed the files once so they must have the .STL files or whatever somewhere.

But it wouldn’t really fall under the devs remit / job description. Maybe the community manager role or outsourcing.

I’m sure some of us would be more willing to buy / 3d print a kit than just another weapon DLC.

Plus it’s ongoing revenue without requiring ongoing work. They could even do a Kickstarter or similar.

How do you know this has happened, did Sean say that?

Yes. I’m sure on more than one occasion he said he was given them, and as such won’t sell anything he makes from them or redistribute the source files.

But he wont even share the files with other print enhousiants. So it’s a bit strange that they were willing to share it with only one person, with the restriction that he does not share it with others.

I mean, there are tutorials on how to rip them direct from the PC files, import into Blender and then export them for printing.

It can be done if people really want to.

But then I don’t know why the devs don’t just put them on thingverse or similar and charge people to download them.

BTW, I would be interested in a small version figurine, not the big sized figurine Sean is making.

It’s easier to print and paint at large scale, but once you have the files you can print at whatever size / resolution your 3D printer can handle.

You know you want to buy a 3D printer.

Can you measssssssssssssssssage me that link.

I don’t have a 3D printer, and I would rather buy the finished product, painted and all. If they are too big you will most likely struggle to find a place for them. Especially if you want more of them. 15-20 cm high tops, I’d say.

I could be mistaken. It was when I first saw him post years ago. He may have well ripped them himself, there are tutorials on YouTube on how to rip them

He rips the game files for those to extract the STL files. The dev’s do not give him the files.
