A Long Story of Frustration

[PC Solo]

I decided that what I really need is a better weapon. I contacted my Intelligence Officer, (Major Google), and learned that the weapon I want is located in a Lighthouse in the Northeast. Unfortunately, I was in the Southwest, so it was going to be a long trip.

I fast traveled to my furthest safe house to get as close as possible in the direction I needed to go. I loaded up with supplies and headed out. I didn’t get far and got spotted and attacked. I quickly ducked into a nearby farm house and found a barn storage key. Great! This could be a great stash of supplies.
In trying to fight my way out of the house and get to the barn, I died (no adrenaline shot).

That put me back at my safe house. I restocked supplies and found I was now surrounded by a pack of dogs and two walking excavators. I spent over an hour setting traps and picking them off. Died a couple more times in the process, but I was already in the safe house. Now, I am low on ammo, traps and med kits, but looting the bots replenished some of my ammo. So I headed out.

I was going to bypass the farm house with the barn, but realized I already had the key, and I need supplies for the long journey ahead. So I began sneaking my way back and finally managed to get in. As I suspected, it was a well-stocked supply room. Yay! So I dropped a radio and resupplied.

I was only about 1/3 of the way to my destination, so decided I would avoid all contact and just sneak as far as I could. I got about 2/3 of the way but could not find a safe house. All of the towns were well-guarded by dogs, hunters and walking excavators.

I found an area that was well-hidden and away from any bot patrols, so I dropped another radio. By now, it is getting late (real time), and I still haven’t eaten. I can’t logout or I will have to start all over. I decided to continue on and push toward the lighthouse (surely, it is a safe house).

I was very careful to avoid any contact, but those dang Seekers kept pinging me. I had to use ammo, med kits and traps just to stay alive. I died a couple times, but thanks to the radios, I was able to fast travel back to my hiding spot. Unfortunately, I was now out of ammo, adrenaline, med kits and traps. All I had left was my handgun, and ammo was limited on that too.

I finally got close enough to see the lighthouse. I kept a good distance and moved around to spot any bots guarding it. There was a pack of dogs patrolling around the entrance, but far enough away that I thought I could run and get the door opened and get inside before they got me.

I got into a good position and waited. When the patrol thinned out, I made a dash for the lighthouse. The dogs began shooting at me, but I was okay.

I opened the door, and the door smacked me in the face just as one of the bots unleashed a rocket launcher…

So close…

I decided it was time to logoff, eat, and go to bed.
I will try again. Unfortunately, my radios will not be there.

I did the exact same thing my first time playing through the game. Took me 3 attempts before I made it. The last time too a LONG time because I was super stealthy.

Just FYI, there are ticks at the top of the lighthouse. Make sure you have health and ammo before attempting it.

I’m pretty confident that the small town next to that lighthouse is a safehouse location, too.

I’m not sure about that, but I do know for sure that the lighthouse itself is a safe house.

The Seekers are insane. I was just doing a Hardcore session (one life, etc) like I do sometimes and I snuck my way through a valley in the northern part of the map, when I spotted those eerie artificial lights bobbing up and down that signifies Hunters. It was dark, and heavy snow fell, but I managed to spot them. There were eight (!) of the damn things doing who knows what just on the edge of the forest, and with two FNIX Seekers circling. All I had to defend myself with was a Kpist and a .243 rifle, so I headed up the mountain to get around. I was some 400 meters away from the group, when my visibility indicator suddenly pops up and immediately turns yellow.

So I hunker down and peer out into the darkness and lo and behold, one of the Seekers had somehow sniffed me out and slooowly approached me. With some effort I managed to isolate it, and dispatch of the Seeker without the other group noticing me. I looted a Full Vision module from it. My only guess is I got real unlucky, and it saw me with thermal vision.

That lighthouse is a bit hard to reach without proper weaponry. I think you shouldn’t try to shortcut the story line to much. There are a safe house just south of the light house as well on the coast line.

But I recognize the effort, it becomes easier if you search for the equipment need on the way.

Second attempt and made it. I found a safe house and wound up completing a world mission while I was at it. Got into town and got on the roof of a house and took out the dogs one by one. The ticks were no problem for my shotgun… Success! Got the weapon… now I need ammo for it. LOL.

I took took lazy tick method and simply shot the electrical boxes on the house.

It’s also the quickest way to end a tick swarm
