A Veteran's List of Issues (PS4)

As a man who has played this game ever since launch, I have seen (and used) my own fair share of bugs and glitches. I was there when the backpack duplication glitch was present, I slapped a KVM 59 extended mag on a PVG in the old inventory screen, and I used the old infinite adrenaline shot spawns before they were sadly patched. However, there have been a few things that have persisted since LAUNCH and a few new things that definitely need some tweaking, ALL ON THE PS4 and will mostly occur no matter the player count. So, as a person whose heart is a home for this game, I’d like to point out these problems:

  • Game Chat Glitch: Whenever just TWO players use their mics in the game chat at the same time, it DESTROYS your ears. Seriously, even a slight PEEP from another player while another is speaking sounds like the noise that happens when you hit a machine’s component, but INTENSIFIED. PLEASE, SYSTEMIC REACTION, SAVE MY EARS!

  • The Overby Airbase Gate: So, uh… Yeah, the front gate at the Overby Airbase is WAY off. I don’t know how he did it, but FNIX got a Tank to push the gate sideways without it falling over. I understand if this is because of the model used for the fence, but… it really triggers my gaming OCD, I’m sorry.

  • Unstoppable Shells Augmentation Lag: I mean, I don’t know what else to say, it’s right there. Attach Unstoppable Shells to a gun, start firing, and your PS4 starts DYING.

  • Massive Framerate Drops: This is just a general issue. There are areas that cause this (Ostervik, the lower areas of the Northcoast Region, FNIX Control Points, and the Northern Farmlands just to name a few) and most combat encounters if having more then ten machines will cause HUGE framerate drops.

  • Screen Tearing: This happens at the same time as the Massive Framerate Drops, where one part of the screen is slower than another. Pretty weird stuff.

  • Machine Corpses go Flying: I can’t tell whether it’s the terrain, the bodies trying to turn static, or other machine interactions, but whatever it is, it cause most huge machine bodies (Harvesters, Tanks, Firebirds, etc.) to go FLYING, which gets pretty annoying when you just reached the dead machine, only for it to fling itself even FURTHER away from you.

  • Schizophrenia Machines and Bodies: Sometimes, probably for optimization, some machines and machine bodies will just straight up POOF even though I’m in the same area as them during a combat encounter. Pretty messed up when you’re fighting a hunter, then it just disappears RIGHT in front of you.

  • Repeating Loot: Now, this might be just for gameplay, but I will go through several Tanks in a row only to get the EXACT same guns and attachments. I’d be fine if it was just multiple different guns and attachments that I didn’t want, but the EXACT SAME ones over and over just feel like the game’s taunting me (and I’ve already felt like the game has already me for YEARS…). From what I’ve observed, this mostly happens with DLC weapons (Soviet, Eastern Block, American, etc.).

  • Apocalypse Machine Weapons: For some odd reason, the cluster launchers on Apocalypse Class Hunters and the mine launchers on Apocalypse Class Tanks don’t work correctly. They’ll fire, they’ll arc, but as soon as they hit the ground, absolutely nothing. Not only that, but sometimes the game will try to correct this, and fire them again without the machine actually firing them, only for the same result to happen. It has made those two hilariously easy to defeat (no seriously, I will taunt them whenever they can’t do anything).

Those are some of the big ones. I might have forgotten a few, so whoever is a poor soul like me that plays this game on a ten-year-old console (literally), please list ANYTHING I’ve forgotten. Devs, if I’ve sounded very aggressive in this post to you guys, I’d like to apologize. My humor is very American. Oh, also, my PS4 is VERY old. Literally the ORIGINAL model with all the original parts.

Freddie? Freddie Blom is this you? We all thought that you didn’t survive.
I suppose you heard the sad news that Uncle Calle gave his life taking out FNIX’s big cannon. This was a black day for the resistance. Uncle Calle was devastated when he thought his dear beloved nephew had kicked the bucket. He was never the same happy guy after that. :coffee:

Anyway, we could use a veteran fighter for the last showdown, and end this once and for all! But know that the Devs cannot not give us our freedom back, we have to fight and fight hard. Death to the machines!
