I tried to enjoy this game when I got it in July last year but I soon realized that my way of playing it (slowly and sniping from a distance) is prohibited by one, for me, game-breaking issue: I have to hold down the mouse button to aim. I cannot and will never be as precise aiming if I constantly have to keep a mouse button pressed and I will not play a game that forces me to do it. So my question is, will this basic “feature” that obviously was planned because it exists as a setting in settings.json (“GameAimToggle”) ever be enabled or should I just uninstall?

If your mouse or keyboard has any kind of macro software it is easy to workaround this and make your own toggle aim button until the devs can figure it out.
Back when I did this it was the old inventory and right clicking on weapons/items in your inventory was a thing. I had to set mine to another thumbbutton since the macro tried to run even in the inventory.
As of now, right clicking stuff is gone and LMB/E/R is king with this new UI so having a macro on RMB might work out fine now
