Ammo resupply algorithm

I realise the ammo algorithm is trying to help, but it needs some work. I use a pistol very little, so to save space I only carry amour piercing 9mm ammunition for it. Every box I find offers me 21-25 rounds of 9mm fmj, which as I have said, I never use.

On the other hand, I use the 7.62 all the time - it is my go-to melee weapon. The box that offered me 23 rounds of 9mm fmj, offers me 3 rounds of 7.62.

Now I know the game knows what I use, and to kill what, because it shows me in the statistics page. So. The boxes need to offer me more of what I use most, rather than what I haven’t got, because I never use it. Can someone raise this with the DEVs please? It should be very easy to fix.

At least it’s smart enough to not offer you tons of ammo for guns you don’t have. For the short time I had the AG 5 before I just decided to toss it, I got almost nothing but 5.56mm ammo, no matter how much of anything I had. Moment I tossed it, that stopped.

I have yet to see any ammo to respawn, at all.

Oh? Have you fast-tavelled back to where you found it the first time? If you’ve been playing for more than four hours since you were there, the boxes and backpacks will have refilled.

Somebody said somewhere that if you dropped everything you want more of into a backpack before you open the box, then it fills it with that, but I haven’t tried it. Yet. Tomorrow evening, Im going to kill that Tank in the Fort and rush off to the locked storehouses behind, where, having just bought my new lockpicking skills, I intend to clean up…!

I’ve not tried that tactic with ammo before (I have to much ammo for one backpack…), but it does appear to work with some other stuff.

Not happening, and there are many others on this forum having the same issue

Well, this is why this post is in Feedback - I nearly put it in Bugs, and may yet. Can someone raise it on Wednesday?
