Annoying ragdoll dead machines

Ps5. After machines are killed the behavior is eeird. Sometimes bullets go through them. Sometimes the get launched in air and disappear or cant be found. How do they suddenly become weightless like ragdolls?

This happenned to me too, Im in pc

Thanks for the report. It’s a known issue, from what I’ve seen it seems to happen whenever the dead Machine isn’t being rendered. Like when you turn your back on it. Hope to see it fixed soon.

strong winds are throwing them in the air

Lol. Every Tank or Harvester is just a plaything for my runner companion! I swear he runs into them sending them flying on purpose just to make it harder for me to collect the loot!

And again this morning. Took out a pile of big baddies (Tank, Harvester and 2 Wolves and a large contingent of lynx) including a lvl 4 rival Wolf. While I’m running around popping off shots at every stray lynx rolling by, all of a sudden the lynx mamma rival corpse goes flying through the air like a rag doll missile over the mountain and into the ocean on the other side. I tracked it through the air and plotted it’s course as best I could and gave chase right away as I didn’t want to lose the rival loot. Never found it, so I assume it went into the deep blue. Really sucks!

That’s the collision system…which seem to exaggerate in these cases.
Maybe the devs “just” have to change the state of a destroyed machine to an immobile object like a truck.

@SR_Carni
One thing I also noticed:

Sometimes if I drive my motorbike into a destroyable (enemy machine, companion, fences) the destroyable gets damage (I already destroyed several runners by driving into them), but sometimes I just crash into them, get blocked and just my motorbike gets damaged or destroyed.

Here seems to be an issue with the collision system, too.

Unfortunately it’s not that easy. We have an idea for a fix for this but it’s in the early stages. I do want to see it fixed eventually so I’ll keep asking about it

Of course I don’t know how programing GZ works… :wink:

At least the destroyed machines still need a collision box to be able to climb on them and to take cover behind them. They also must still be useable as loot container and should be immobile, like these flat fnix base containers on the ground.

And finally they should disappear after a certain amount of time or under certain conditions.

not really a problem for me, since I have everything anyway, at the most I lose some .50 bullets & adrenaline shot, which I can craft anyway, :tornado: I kinda enjoy watching them go up invisible tornadoes lol

kinda reminds me of a movie called Sharknado, except with flying machines & not sharks :joy: lol

, idea for a DLC flying hunters, harvesters, tanks, all in a Sharknado like thing lol
