Are the new experimentals harder to get?

Believe it or not, no mods, I have a gold extended mag and gold oversized magazine, makes for infinite ammo :joy: I did the same with the minigun, my magazine size on it is 700

Yeah I forgot about that augment…geezer moment there. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

wait WHAT, can you find extended mags for the minigun?
for which gun do you have 700 rounds in one mag?

No extended mag for the minigun. It’s an augmentation which you can apply on the 2c-5c minigun (or any other gun) which increases the magazine size.

Usually coming with a higher recoil, except for the gold augmentation.

i know that you could augment but i thought you achieved 700 with an augmentation buff stacked ontop of a 5c mag, but now i know, thanx

I’m at level 137 now with who knows how many Tyrants killed and still no Experimental Messuer. I’ve given up even fighting them because most of the time I get better loot off the level 3 and 4 rivals. Its unfortunate because I have 10’s of thousands ultracapacitors with no use for them. Must be doing something wrong I guess. :face_exhaling:

The Experimental Messuer is a vulture exclusive drop.

Yep I was aware. So tonight I said screw it and gave it one more try and finally got it. :star_struck:

My first impression is its like the Exp. 89…a lot of timing + tracking doesnt always work well. Its a good sneak attack weapon especially with Commander switched on…but once things start moving its time to switch weapons. I scorched my bloomer a few times as well trying to get the holeshot.

One cool thing about it is the ammo is very lightweight compared to rocket rounds. Also…if you have a crapload of ammo cans in inventory taking up space weight wise converting them to this ammo will reduce it.

Will I carry this in my loadout a lot…we’ll see…but I highly doubt it. It would be nice if it had a way to de-energize the shot if you need to so you dont give away your position. But hey…I finally got it. Still dont have the Exp. Hammer but I know I wouldnt use it anyway.

Anyhootchie…carry on all.

UPDATE: I meant to compare the ammo weight to rocket rounds, not .50 cal…which they are the same weight…corrected.

I’m actually liking this gun more than I thought I would. Two or three shots take down harvesters and a couple more for tanks…not bad. It’s also fantastic for taking the shield generators down on the reapers…1 or 2 shots each depending on the angle you can nail it.

Tonight was another good night when I went to fight a vulture and a reaper that spawned at the same spot. I was able to draw the vulture away and finally got the Exp. Hammer. Also fun toy but not for my style of fighting. I also figured out a fairly quick sequence of downing the damned vultures too.

The reaper only gave me another Exp AG-4. After fighting him in one spot until it was at about 25% health…something blasted it halfway across the map so I had to chase after it to finish it off.

Like I said…have patients and you’ll get the weapons. :flushed:

I got incredibly lucky and got it pretty much right after the update dropped, probably my 4th vulture or so, and I’m ngl I still have it in my loadout, and I still have some fun with it. One reason why I like it is because it’s currently the only gun that can full stealth a pack of hunters (if you hit the gas tanks) which I thought was pretty cool. It shreds about any component and is a great start to most combat situations, but like you said you can really only use it at the start of combat. For sure fun to use though, can shred a military tank in just a couple hits if you hit the right spots

I gotta admit I carry the Exp Meusser a lot now. For the big guys I’ll switch to the Commando setting or whatever it is for the increased first hit damage…takes a nice chunk off them.

I didn’t even think about using commando with it, I’m gonna try that today

I never use commando even on a pvg90, coz the dmg increment doesn’t make much different n pretty much only work on first shot. Exp messuer s probably the only weapon which can sync with commando, since it can deal incredible single shot dmg far higher than any other weapons.

Best to get the first hit on a component to get the maximum initial damage. If you hit armor yeah it wont make much difference even with AP rounds. Easy enough to switch back and forth to Vanguard or whatever you use other than Commado. To each his own.
