I had several DLC weapons augmented and I uninstalled the game for a brief amount of time and when I reinstalled, my augmented weapons were no longer augmented
Might, not have been saved, but it should have because of auto save.
It did save the augmentations on my baseball bat
The other weapons you augmented, were they base game weapons too or just DLC weapons or both?
since the augmentation bug not fixed in final update on the PS4, and it won’t be a bother to not patch after for hotfixes, 
the augmentation glitch is a nice one to have if you lose your augmentations do to glitches, or you don’t wanna grind 500 parts per weapon
the glitch I’m talking about is PS4, you can get augmentations prompts for 0 parts, if you don’t have 500 parts
They were dlc weapons, specifically the pm 71 which I put gold titan toppler and gold sound muffling and the rlg 7 with the same augmentations
Seems that uninstalling or deactivating a DLC not just removes the weapons/items, but also unbinds all augmentations on them, maybe even connected attachments. Idk.

In my eyes it’s a great issue.
Uninstalling a game isn’t as rare if you have limited space available. But saved items should stay saved.
I imagine it in a way that the weapons/items just should be locked (greyscale Icon, a dlc-lock) if the DLC isn’t installed any more. You should be able to move (from inventory to plundra and back, dropping it and picking it up again) it, but not to use it.
Once the DLC is installed again, check the license and activate the weapons/item again.

Could it have been a bad reinstall?
Maybe it did not keep all your stuff because you reinstalled it.
