Base Defense Missions

I don’t have the want to play Generation Zero anymore. Simply because they messed one thing up. Base Defense Missions. It’s no longer located around the central truck, but around a stupid machine. And worse yet, they screwed everyone over with resources. It’s near impossible to put up a great defensive perimeter now. You need phosphorus to build so many things. I don’t even know where to begin.

I absolutely loved base defense missions, until they decided to add new materials to the game, and switch the base defense mission to protecting a stupid machine. I was in the middle of building a great defensive base, then along came the update. Wanna build that wall? Well, you need phosphorus and wood now. They didn’t do a good job at all with changing it. They ruined it. They could’ve done something much better. For example, let you take a fighter jet into the sky and attack from the air. That would really help against the firebirds. Or, they could even let you use a tank. There are plenty of those objects sitting around in perfect condition.

Yeah, the cost-free base repair is nice. However, they just simply butchered the base defense mission altogether. Unless this gets reversed, I’m pretty sure I’m done playing Generation Zero. And my friend will be very upset, as they love playing this game with me.

It is cool how they changed it.
But I’m saying that as someone who had many existing bases, all weapons and stuff…

I agree that it is catastrophal that all those new ressources are needed just to build up a base or just a few walls.

I don’t even want to imagine how it must be to be a new player who doesn’t have all of that.

Yes, it’s a way to keep players playing to get all the ressources and build a base or more… But doing this just with the last update, although it has been totally different for years, that’s just bad.

Honestly, I agree. They did ruin base defense and building in general. I dont wven do base defense any more, and you’re right about the other update they should have done. I would have loved for them to add aircraft or tanks, but then the game would be too unbalanced, so they would have to make the vehicles take resources to spawn, and make new machines to fight the new resistance threat. It would still be better than this terrible change. It even screwed up experimental crafting. They really left the game in shambles in so many ways.

Also, for the aircraft/tanks taking resources to spawn, this would have been PERFECT for the new resources being added. They had a big opportunity and didnt take it.

Almost everybody is done playing Generation Zero. Look at the Forum, it’s on its all-time low. When nothing new is in its future, the fun is soon over.

Know that in a distant future there nothing left of the old glory. The forum will have been shut down. All information lost to the sands of time. And if sweet smelling, freshly baked Semla’s are served with the morning coffee in a Swedish retirement home, for some people this might trigger their memory of when phosphorus became a rare commodity in Generation Zero. And still bring a fleeting memory about the good old days…

did anyone notice the Selma Event was active yesterday  anyone else notice

there’s a Selma Baker Hat at the FMTEL computer  eat 4 selmas assignment

Yes I did, but I have the baker’s hat already. :coffee:

How do you eat? I didn’t think this game had food? (admittedly I also somehow didn’t notice food in Horizon Forbidden west till I had already beat the game.)

The same way you use med kits…

the same selma event FMTEL assignment has shown up for me a couple times already  it’s kinda strange

I am lucky i built almost max allowed home base in my world2, they are for base def trigger purpose. Before base def update, it’s such a pain when FMTel request you to do a base def while you don’t have any awaiting. I just deconstruct any unwanted wall and focus to main base😆
Refined tungsten and uranium are still a pain, though.

Bro i was on my way to assault a newly formed FNIX control point only to encounter every second machine in the South Coast region, i didnt even make the halfway mark before it max’d out ;-;

Hahaha! The good old days are sadly done for. At least I still have some memories of the old days. I told my brother who got me into the game, to not play it. When he asked why, I told him why. However, the choice is up to him. They really screwed everyone over.

I don’t have any bases left either. The ones I had disappeared shortly before the last update due to an error. I don’t know if that was due to the game or my PC. When I wanted to rebuild them, the special material became necessary.
