Being able reload while sprinting

So the january patch made it possible to reload while sprinting. While it grants a faster “flow” to the game, it also made the game a lot easier when it took the tension of reloading during combat out of the game (more or less).

Opinions?

Ill have to try it out some more but first impressions are:
Fighting those first ever tanks solo and learning when you had time to reload between attacks was a blast when successfull. Now also having 2 points in the reload perk is kinda of meh… 1 will surely suffice now

I really got used to reloading while walking or even crouching in cover. It took me a while to switch back to the old ways

This could be a skill to unlock.

BTW - it was really annoying with the MG’s… Many times I started running when I thought reloading was completed… but it wasn’t… and we start over

9 months of walking and reloading , painful :upside_down_face: when surrounded … 1 day running and reloading :joy: happy days , if people don’t like the change then Do Not Run hahaha easy solution for the nay sayers . I can say i think it should be attached to the Reload Perk :+1:

I’ve reloaded at a flat-out sprint, Oggy, and so have you!

It was one of my biggest frustrations that I couldn’t in the game, but I note that the animation is slower than doing it static - all good for me…

I like it. Reloading while sprinting adds more flow to combat; not necessarily just running around in the open but also for situations when you’re desperately dashing for cover or hoping to gain some distance from say, Hunters.

Personally, I’m not a fan of it. It’s not game breaking or anything, but I honestly preferred the added tension of being forced to time your reloads.

It would make more sense (to me) if the ability was tied to a skill.

Although, it wasn’t actually in the patch notes so I wouldn’t be too surprised if it turns out to be a bug!

However, I’m really glad they fixed the auto-shotgun reloading only a single shell on the first attempt. That was driving me nuts!

I love it. I play Battlefield almost daily with my friends and every time when I play GZ I started sprinting it breakes the reloading. That was soo annoying. I’m very happy that they finally implemented it.

The shotguns have always reloaded perfectly for me on PC.
If I dont press LMB while reloading I load the full mag.
If I started pressing LMB mid reload it stops reloading and lets me start unleashing the shells I just loaded.
A life saver when you dont need more then 1 or 2 shells to finish off your foe.

As someone who tends to not be good at shooter type games, I can confirm this helps me quite a bit :grimacing: I reload a lot since I can’t hit the broad side of a barn.

While reload during sprinting is convenient when using most weapons, it broke one of my tactics that i use.

6* m/49 reloads 2x rockets into it if you let the reload complete. Before, i was able to load only 1x rocket into it, by starting to sprint, thus cancelling reload. Great if you want to shoot 1x rocket only, e.g against pack of runners, without wasting 2nd shot.

But now, i can’t do that anymore. :confounded:

If you switch weapons mid reload instead of sprinting it will still only load 1 round but yes, now with the added step of switching weapon again.

At least we won’t be complaining about being without this feature.

To be a little picky , I think I would have preferred a reload at jog rather than sprint.

Priorities…

  1. Get away AFAP.
  2. Reload whilst still moving fast enough to avoid.
  3. Turn and fight or melt in to the shadows.

Whilst you are going full speed the reload would be pretty difficult but once the stamina ran out and you change to a job it would be much more doable.

Saying that, a moving reload whilst doing more than just walking is a welcome change.

Now that gave me an idea about a new skill for the game!
