Best budget graphics cards for generation zero

So I have generation zero on Xbox one and pc. Sadly while the Xbox one version works fine the pc version runs about as well as an over inflated water buffalo. Everything is in slow motion and that sucks
I don’t know what graphics card my pc has and I’m not sure how to check but since I have a spending budget of $150 every 2 weeks I need to find a card that is both affordable and reliable

Any suggestions
I’m considering a Radeon 7750. Will that work?

  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

  • Graphics: nVidia GTX 660 / ATI HD7870 - 2GB VRAM / Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 580

  • Storage: 35 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

  • OS: 64bit OS - Windows 10

  • Processor: Intel i7 Quad Core

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM

  • Graphics: nVidia GTX 960 / R9 280 - 4GB VRAM

I don’t know much about graphics cards
Would the 7750 be less powerful or more powerful or something?

Me neither, but I suggest checking benchmark sites who do comparison of Graphic cards.
I found one you can check: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/

But I don’t think $150 will cut it.

If a Radeon 7750 is an upgrade for your PC you may want to consider upgrading the whole PC with a better one that you piece together.

Buy the case one week, motherboard another week, Power supply, processor, hard drive or solid state drive and so on. Each one, till you get to the GPU, would fit inside your budget for a fairly good gaming system, if bought one at a time. You will need to save a few weeks for the better GPU. By that time prices may drop back down to pre-chip shortage and covid.

The draw back is doing a ton of research to make sure everything will work together. But well worth it if you have more free time than money.

Since you don’t really know your system specs, I’d suggest you find out the basics - just open your task manager (assuming you’re on Win10) and go to the Performance tab. You can click on CPU, Memory and GPU, then just write down (or screenshot) the results of what is reported in the top right and maybe some of the info below the graphs, then post them here.

GPU (and other PC component) prices are at an all-time high right now, so getting a good deal is out of the question. Hardware shortages have driven prices through the roof, and even used GPUs cost more than their previous MSRP.

Speaking for me and my system: I’d wager any semi-recent quad-core CPU should suffice, and I’d go for at least 8 GB of RAM. As for the GPU, I run a (old by now) AMD RX 580 8GB, and I can’t max the game on a 1080p display. I presume the nVidia equivalent (geForce 1060 6GB) will do about as well. So I’d consider this the sweet spot for a cheapish good-enough GPU. You might get decent performance from cheaper GPUs by lowering most of the settings including resolution or settling for 30 fps, but then you’re better of with your console…

Hey! That sounds really frustrating, especially since the Xbox One version runs fine but the PC version feels like it’s in slow motion.

To figure out what graphics card you have, just open up Device Manager on your PC and check under Display adapters that’ll tell you exactly what you’re working with.

About the Radeon 7750, it’s a pretty old card and sits quite low in the current GPU hierarchy. It might struggle with games like Generation Zero, so it probably won’t give you the smooth experience you’re hoping for.

Since you’re saving $150 every couple of weeks, I’d suggest looking into something like a GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1650. They’re affordable, reliable, and much better suited for gaming nowadays. They should give you a solid boost without costing too much.

If you want, I can help you find some good options that fit your budget!

While you are being kind to the person, this was from 2022
