so the main theme is playing, pressing buttons generates sound but nothing more, no loading icon, nothing.
all game files have been verified through steam.
problem after getting the 10 MB patch. I have been unable to play anything so far.
Update: after some hard checks I updated every single driver on my machine this solved this problem
