after doing the new base defence mission, i heard tank noises not so faraway, i checked it out and saw a bunch of red lights, when I came closer i noticed they were all tanks, the exact same ones: a military tank with a machinegun left, a large mortar on the right and a shockwave. i found this at these coordinates : 1322.276, -2205.508. Near the “Storkogen” controlpoint. i will attach a video.
speculation
so i think these tanks duplicated because they were exactly the same, and were all in one spot. they duplicated while i was doing base defence they amounted to a total of 9. later when i decided to check it out (5 minutes later) there were 5 more, so i had 14 dead tanks laying around. they didn’t give me anything special, just some normal loot. i haven’t found more spots like this altough i know for certain it is because of the showdown update. i have video footage but can’t upload it her (don’t know how)
For videos for example use YouTube and post the link to the video here.
Which difficulty of base defense did you do before you noticed these tanks? Medium?
Is it repeatable?
My simple guess is, that the tanks are a relict of the previous base defense missions (before showdown update) and that they spawned there to attack your base as part of the waves. The attack routes maybe were removed by the devs, but they forgot to remove the spawner for the waves at one point.
Not tanks for me. Set spawns are double. For example, three runners are now six. Not sure what is going on and it has thus far only occurred at Lila Hammarnas
i did the base defence at hard mode, adventure difficulty, when i checked there were 9. i went back to my base and cleaned up the remaining soviets (don’t know if they can spaw there) and there were another 5.
about you guess, it could be but it is pretty far away from the base. and i only have footage of me fighting the tanks.
This happened to me too, and during a stream I did at that, and with the Wolf-type enemies rather than tanks. (Never mind the chaos when they all (presumably) dropped their balls.)
If the time stamp thing I included doesn’t work, go to the five hour and 37 minute mark. It happens right about that point.
Since the machines are no longer controlled by FNIX they don’t really know how to behave, they are on automode. They are confused and as the saying goes Machines without a Tether (connection with FNIXl) might flock together.
