Hello to all, i was reading the Gen Zero Steam forums and a thread there got me worried as i agree with it…
As i too have noticed a lot of my skills and crafting i put my points into seem to do nothing. For instance the Bullet resistance and Stamina doesn’t seem to give me any survival at all in my solo game on Steam.
Am i just wasting my time adding stats to my clothing? and picking many of my skills?
Say your standard bullet resistance value is X, and you upgrade your jacket to have 0.2% more resistance boost, do you think you would notice that?
Example: Let’s assume that 0.2% boost means you can be hit once without losing health. Effectively your resistance is boosted, but it is not significantly noticeable.
How? By counting the hits you take and timing the health loss. You can be hit with a lot of different damage inducing weapons, rockets, fire, gas, bullets of various caliber, splash damage. How would you really feel a small bullet resistance boost with all these possibilities in a fight?
It would be noticeable if we had a bulletproof vest with 40% damage resistance, that would break after a certain amount of damage, and we needed to craft a new one.
I know what you mean.
But it’s a game.
Things you do to improve your character should have a feelable effect.
I often get hit by a salvo of hunter machine guns and the taken damage is the same as if I had no resistance agaist bullets.
It’s the same with the “shoulder cannons”.
100% health, you get hit and end with 9%. No matter if you’re naked or have a bullet proof vest, shoes, trousers,…
What I was saying was just as an example to show that if it is low (like 0.2%) you would not notice the difference, even though it does increases the damage resistance.
The best way is to avoid getting damage by fighting smart. Fight like it was real. If it was real you would not take unnecessary risks. You would chip away from a safe distance.
But it is good to address this seemingly non-existent bullet-resistance upgrade on apparel, maybe the devs will tweak it to make it more apparent.
Bullet resistance on clothing is known to not work at all, that’s why you are not noticing it cus it does not work. (Might have been stealth fixed recently cus I have not tested it recently but none of the patch notes say that it’s fixed)
Stamina and running speed skills are broken, there is something wrong and you can no longer sprint long distances as you could, its been that way since late 2021 or 2022.
@PocketYoda@Gysbert ok I meant “sprint”
Running is almost as walking, so i forget sometimes…
Sprint is broken since they changed the system at that mentioned time period.
Before with all the necessary skills you could sprint a lot more.
Ah. I agree that Sprint is short even with the skills, but it works as intended so it is not broken.
I just run / jog with the heavy breathing, which some people might find an irritating noise. me.
Sprint is really only useful for dodging and dash-like movements to get out of the line of fire quick. Stamina refills pretty quick though.
No, the level 2 of one of the skills actually does not work or makes it worse.
So its not working as intended.
And the part that works as intended is at the eyes of anyone who knows about it “broken” .
Have you reported this? I can’t remember ever reading about it, but I have to say I skim read the bugs section most of the time. I just play the game with all of its quirks.
Users talked about it 1 year ago.
It was forgotten.
No i have not reported and i wont do it, they wont change it as usual.
Its been so long that everyone thinks its normal, and its not game breaking.
Since when are we able to respec our skill points?
Before that my main character always was slower in sprinting than my friends character. Then I changed the skill points that I’m as fast as him and since then we run equaly.
So either we both can’t sprint fast with our skills or it works for us as intended.
