Call for Game Moderators - game bug reports and fixes

We need a menu option to “Call the mods” ( de kallar oss mods  )

Example:
While playing, when you get permanently stuck, entire skill tree stops working, main mission bug happens or an inventory bug appears which cripples the game for the player.

Press ESC, and then “Call the mods”
A window pops up, when you can input your bug report, and a “Request intervention” box can be ticked. When you send the ticket, a waypoint and log is sent to the dev debug team, and an active, logged in moderator gets notified that the player requires immediate assistance.

I’m a moderator on the forums. Do you mean like a Game Master, in World of Warcraft? I’m unsure if Avalanche Studios have the manpower or resources to commit to something like that, it’s why we have the forums where you can report bugs and such.

Thanks for replying,

Agreed, the way most MMORPG’s implement that would not be possible in this kind of game. With that in mind, I do think that a more direct “come here, see the problem” or the more ticket based “here is the bug afflicting my character” approach would be invaluable in the troubleshooting and QA process.

Through the forums, we can only report general observations, but not what/when/where in a way which would enable developers to resolve individual effects of the bugs.

For example, I reported another bug here where the gaming experience is basically broken for a co-op buddy of mine who’s inventory, due to an item transfer bug, is currently allocating more than 20 kg of dead weight. At this time, I have to act as the mule of our two-man group…
And the only solution right now seem to be, after more than 20h in the game, to delete the steam cloud and local save files and begin anew. That’s truly disheartening.

I think what I am looking for, and I can imagine there are folks who agree, is a way for a problem solver to access the individual account/character profile and edit away the effects of the bug. As this is most likely something which would require minimal editing of the database segment on your part.

Understandably, that is most likely not part of the roadmap, but I think that I speak for most players when I say that it would make a real difference for the gaming experience, overall.

What stops players abusing this system to get some 1on1 time with dev? Nothing.

This is not a solution. It isn’t even a short-term fix since the bug that caused it remains.

If a dev joins your game and removes the broken code from your inventory that causes to allocate X amount of weight for nothing, you’d have things back to normal until you meet this bug again.

It will be a huge waste of time for devs to join each player individually, to cure the effect of a bug. Much more constructive would be for players to report the bug, so devs can fix it’s source and roll out updated game for everybody.

Gameplay recording is a thing. Also, in a video, you can show exactly the steps you did to get the bug, making devs life much easier than just providing text based report.

Hello, I play ps4, how do I add a gameplay entry to the forum? I communicate here via telephone.

I think some sort of in-game bug reporting system would be a nice addition not just for this game but for others as well. The sad thing is it would get abused or misused by trolls or those that do not understand a games mechanics.
SPP

I don’t have PS4 do give you step-by-step guide. However, internet is full of guides, like this one,
link: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/how-to-record-gameplay-on-a-ps4/

On PS4, i would record the gameplay video, put it onto USB flash drive, put it into PC, upload it to the net (e.g Youtube) and post the video link in the forums.

Thanks, I will definitely try.

Video recording as a method for documenting a system state or bug is not nearly as effective as a point in time reporting feature, which could record a snapshot of the current location, service log and any related server side activity.
