So im aware the hotfix is soon, but I have one request before it comes out. Can the devs make it so the rival names are visible on the minimap when they are killed? Because I just killed a level 4 fnix tank in the middle of nowhere, and just before i got to loot it, i got gunned down by a wolf. When i returned to the area, i couldnt find it at all. So, for all i know, i may have missed out on getting the exp AI76 i grinded for.
If you’re out of the area for more than a few minutes the dead mobs despawn.
The situation is different since the last update.
Now, many times, their names even disappear right after being taken out !
Its a bug.
An X on the map would be enough for me to show where the Firebird is until it is looted. They tend to fall somewhere where they can practically no longer be discovered/seen.
Usually when I destroy a distant firebird and I want its loot, I see in which direction it came down and immediatly run towards this direction… And there it is.
And I’m not talking about firebirds which were nearby. In many cases they are fighting some other machines and I shoot them down from a few hundred meters away as soon as I spot them.
Yep…if you down a firebird at long distance you have to make a mental note of where it lands and make a straight shot to it immediately. They can blend in with the landscape very well. Maybe they should stay on fire or sparking until they disappear from the map so we can find them.
I like to draw them to me when I can with the .50 cal…then hide and when it gets near step out and emp it and unload my pm-71 on it…done and done. Most of the time it will almost land on top of me. Its hard to get their attention if they are fighting others though. I used to dread them but now they are one of the easiest bots to take down. Vultures…not so much!
Yes, but it is a tank and not a firebird. For all i know it could have been flung away at mach jesus as it is a common bug. I turned the place upside down looking for it.
Of course.
Sorry, the topic got a wrong direction as everybody (me including) replied to Vati.
Nevertheless, Drakkon gave you the answer.
If you fast travel away or respawn somewhere and walk/drive back later, the dead machines usually are gone.
I just down actually know if it’s a matter of time or distance.
For example if I die at a or next to a resistance base or safehouse, I usually chose the respawn option to spare the adrenaline. The machines are still there.
If I’m in a combat and placed a field radio and I die, chose to respawn at the next safehouse or base a few kilometers away and return to combat by fast travelling to the field radio, they usually are still there, too.
But if I chose to walk or drive there it can happen that the living machines are still there, but the dead ones are already gone.
It doesn’t happen as often to me, so it’s hard for me to prove that. Maybe it also depends on the region or location. I just know, if I move east from Lilla hammarnäs and fight through a valley, and then I return to the previous valley, all dead machines usually are gone… Although it isn’t very far and didn’t take so much more time.
Well, it did take me only about 2 minutes to get back to where the battle happened. Not sure if thats enough time for the machines to despawn.
I’ve had it happen in as little as one minute running back from a very close safehouse. So long as you leave the named area, the timer for despawn seems to start. One of my fire team took out one of my rivals at Boo Bruk AB yesterday and then left, and by the time I loaded in the tank had already despawned and I didn’t get to loot the coords or potential resources. Very upsetting.
