Make it so you can walk slower than now, run like now and sprint like the sprint we already have and make it so you can set it why default walking or running. For example sprint is shift and todgle run/walk is caps lock. Because sometimes when you are looting or checking stuff the movement is too fast and gets a little problematic to point with precission.
Good news,
Holding 50% forward will walk
Clicking the thumbstick you will sprint
After your stamina bar is depleted, you will run.
A better idea would be where the more stuff you carry (closer to your max), the slower you move.
And how are you planning to do that on PC keyboards?
Only press forward key 50% down
I guess you don’t know how PC KBs work. It’s either 0% or 100%.
Analog example: you have a light switch in your home, when it’s off, light doesn’t shine. When you flip it on, light shines. Can you move the switch gradually and dim your light? I don’t think so.
See? This is why i don´t understand why people think it´s easier and more accurate to play games with a keyboard.
@DouglasMcFree But usually pc games have a key(like SHIFT or ALT) you have to hold to just run instead of walking or the opposite, GZ does not have one??
Usually when we talk about accuracy with keyboards we mostly mean mouse movement. A mouse is more accurate than a joystick. However movement with keys is less accurate than a joystick.
I have personally never had a huge problem looting things.
I mostly play with Dualshock controllers and find them superior to mouses both in accuracy and in comfort, but i guess some of those expensive mouses can be on the same level.
What GZ has of PCs, is SHIFT for Sprint. Either toggle or held on (can change from in-game settings).
To move slower, you have two options, regardless the platform:
- Crouch. This way, you will move slower and also reduce your detection range.
- Prone*. You’ll move even slower and your detection range is minimal.
*Consoles don’t have the Prone yet but July '20 update brings it. PC players do have Prone thanks to June '20 update.
Going to be honest. Mice are inherently more accurate. Plus we have the ability to move faster or slower by just moving our arm/hand more. Of course you have joystick which have variable movement speeds but you can only go so fast while we can almost always just move our hands faster. Unless it is a REALLy cheap mouse. Pretty much all mice are better than controllers on average. Meaning the skill ceiling for mice is higher. Of course that does not mean using a controller make you bad.
Making caps lock to todgle between walk or run shouldn’t be a big issue for the developers and it will add playability on PC.
I just want walking speed to be slower and sprint speed lower, but a longer speed. I don’t understand why it’s this backwards, but you get winded way too fast even with upgrades, you run cartoonishly quick where even the animations are wonky and this is why I can’t immerse myself within a co-op group.
When Solo, I can set my own restrictions to make the game more immersive, but I’d like to see some change towards the realism, rather than arcade shooter
Ability to slow down your walking/crouching speed on PC would be a great addition for making videos. Currently it’s quite difficult to create a slow panning shot when walking upright.
NoHUD + HeadBobbing[Off] at 120 FPS can get you pretty slow footage of 60. Works great in static scenes without machines that have their standard pacing.
Yeah, I have done couple shots with those, but it’s still not the thing I was looking for.
Would also love to see a “walk” key added also. When exploring around world or looting etc. it would help a lot. Cyberpunk just added a walk key finally which makes it so much better to see the the world around you with out constantly in run mode. Much more immersive imo.
