Yesterday i bought Generation Zero with my friend we played coop for around 2 hours and when i quit game and then launch back in, i didnt have my character… Today i played for another 2-3 hours, yet again i launch the game and i dont have my character. I literally cant play the game. I tried to disable Steam Cloud, didnt help. I play on PC (steam).

Have you tried playing solo for a short while, and and then checked if the game save file is saving on your pc before shutting down?
It should be here:
C:\Users\Your usersname\Documents\Avalanche Studios\GenerationZero\Saves\long number -
It should contain:
savegame
savegame.bac
steam_autocloud.vdf -
Check if the folder isn’t set to read only.
If it’s there make regular backups of whole generationzero folder for restoring purposes. -
Also always shut down by returning to main menu, you should see save icon in upper right corner.
