Cheaters, when will you prevent this?

This goes along more with my disallow guests to attack rivals unless you target them feature request.

Rulesets like you are asking about need to be different options beyond adventure and skirmish. The game needs to be the limiter, not players and their inability to choose wisely and respectfully.

It’s been asked about for a long time now, I don’t think they’ll ever fix this.

I wholeheartedly agree with previous posts!

A cheater should not be able to join a legit game, and a legit player should not be able to join a cheaters game.

Cheaters can play with themselves if they like, but they should NOT be allowed to screw over other peoples games.

Adding a savefile verification bit could be the way to solve this; a small software function that scans if there are any mods among the game files and if found; marks the savefile as “cheater” to block every attempt to join public games that are hosted by non-cheaters.
So even if you disable the mods, you will still be marked as cheater unless you start on a fresh savefile.

After all, by installing mods youre actually breaking the EULA, so if mods breaks your savefile, then good riddance.

really

the point of using cheats is that your offline or at least not in a match made or publicly open session to use them

and yes I’ve thought about using cheats in this game and I’ve stated before i stand by cheats in PVE games but when they’re used like this i have to put my foot down

they might not had have any malicious intent but that was the outcome due to your ruined experience due to the cheating if they stayed in their own private session alone then there’s nothing wrong with the cheats going online to someone elses world using them that’s when a problem occurs

and another thing cheating is a major concept wirh PC gaming devs continuelly fight cheaters with updates to the game and to their anti cheat software and cheaters and the distributors always ends up getting pass the security so the cheats always works

this is something Microsoft fails to recognize when they make Halo infinite forced Cross play between PC and Console

the difference is that PC will always have the way to cheat

the xbox since xbox 1 have two security methods in place

Updating the Console to use it online connected to the xbox network to prevent console hacks

Updating the controller to be able to use it on the xbox to twart the controller based hacks

my recommendation for players of generation zero who plays with cheats due to finding that a majority of these bosses are difficult for you and your ammo situation is mostly bad to good (at the expense of encumbered) just stay in your own private world don’t hop into someone elses world because they don’t want to play with cheats and don’t want to play with someone with cheats

if you find yourself getting bored playing alone there’s other games your could play

there’s also making a new character that hasn’t cheated and touched cheated items and playing in someone’s world with all cheats off

You honestly believe those using hacks are just going to stay offline to play with their friends… no, they get on and grief legit players to a point they quit and leave and they find it funny to do so as I’ve seen time and time again joining multiplayer via PC through steam. You’ll get rid of one or two cheaters/hackers and within minutes you’ll be greeted with another group of cheaters doing the same exact thing.

So the time you have to play on MP is basically thwarted over profile scanning, and reporting them to steam for hacking and cheating. We’re not the GZ police, and shouldn’t have to be. I agree with a lot of people here though, an “avoid player system” should be implemented through the game. Not only for cheaters/hackers but for toxic players, or as some would say “vultures” who pick up anything you put down and log out just for you to say good bye to your loot then. Would also be nice to have a skill point check, and if they have more than 30 skill points, they cannot join the multiplayer then. Not going to say this would stop the cheating all together, but might thwart a lot of them from being able to join public games.

As for those wanting to use cheats and hacks in their single player, idgaf what or who they do it with. Just don’t come online in an open public multiplayer game and cheat claiming they’re overpowered, spamming unlimited ammo and lagging my game to oblivion because they can.

I’ve earned everything legit with gaining nearly all the experimental weapons (I’m just missing one, Apparently my RNG sucks) to now all of the experimental ammos and the two experimental consumables. And since coming back and playing religiously everyday for 3 weeks straight now, I’ve managed to gain more levels with base defending, rival hunting, reaper culling, all the while to be accused of cheating because I’ve went past lvl 31, if they only knew after lvl 31 all you get is 5 uranium every level after level 31 and you don’t gain anymore skill points thereafter.

So I believe there is a lot of misinformation floating around about this game. Some aren’t aware you can surpass level 31, and continue to level to gain more levels or for that manner re-stat once you’ve hit level 32 after gaining 5 uranium to do so. Uranium really doesn’t do much of anything aside to craft experimental consumables and ammo you’ve unlocked, and/or re-stat your characters. They just mis-read or 100% ignore patch notes and believe someone’s misinformation spread around like fertilizer in an ever grown field of constructed chaos. The only thing that stops is their skill points, in which you only get 30.

I had a long conversation with a new player in a random game I joined few days back. They explained to me that they had just joined some random game before opening theirs for help and got given all these cool 6 “star” weapons they said and the person dropped a bunch of 5 “star” accessories to them as well. They didn’t know the slightest about the game, and whomever told them 31 is the max didn’t know what they were talking about. So from what I gathered was some of these cheaters are duping weapons, not getting duplicates through farming. They had said the player that gave them all the weapons and accessories was not much higher in level than they where at the time… they said they where lvl 15 with the cheater/hacker stating the only thing that levels up once you get a class to level 31 is their levels, and that new characters have the same build throughout the entire account. 100% bullcrap. That makes me so damned aggravated, here I am trying to get everything legit, and got some dillhole’s duping weapons and passing them around like a pez dispenser to every new player, saying “they’re easy to get”. What irked me the most was this new player literally had the Experimental PVG 90 maxed out in all 5 crown accessories. That weapon literally took me years to get that thing to drop from a reaper class, and that was just recent. That weapon alone is not easy to get by any means with how my RNG is… and they where only level 12… and never played the game before. After they explained to me all the weapons they were given… they got damned near every experimental weapon… except the melee weapon. So this just means even the cheaters don’t have good RNG lol, cause I’ve yet to see that melee weapon drop for myself, but I know it exists because I seen it on the Generation Zero wiki with a picture of the “power hammer”, and where it supposedly drops from (of all things… a reaper).

So it’s a lose/lose situation with random public multiplayer. Got cheaters/hackers who ruin the build diversity and challenge then come in god mode with unlimited everything, and dupe all the hard to get weapons and hand them out like Halloween candy to all the new players. Not to mention boast to the new players that once reaching level 31, they’ll be as powerful as they are. I call bollocks, in order for you to have all of your skill points maxed on all trees you’d need at least 96 skill points (I counted them up__12 per column, 8 columns in total). You ONLY get 30 with a legit playthrough, so clearly they’re cheating. I don’t have all skills maxed… I have 15 in combat set up for Marksman, 9 in survival, and 6 in the tech tree. That is literally my all around best ranged build I’ve figured out to use sniper and an assault rifle setting to semi auto. I’m no were near “over powered” as it still takes me quite a bit of ammo to take down rivals, and FNIX bases. But I’m no slouch either, I don’t waste my time fumbling with my thumbs in some control point trying to figure out what I’m going to do next. So when I get on to play, I have set goal to achieve, and I do it as quickly and as efficiantly as I can before I go and get rid of tier 3 FNIX bases. I can imagine in the eyes of someone who doesn’t possess the weapons and ammo I have, or my build, they would assume I’m overpowered compared to them. But I’m not able to kill a tier 4 rival in less than 30 seconds upon engagement, nor a reaper that fast. So I’m nowhere near that caliber of being over powered being just a legit player.

By simply ignoring cheaters, preventing them to being able to logon to a multiplayer game is one very good way to do it.

Is it possible to get an official answer if something is going to be done against cheating?

I was revisiting the game to see all the improvements and new features that has come since the last updates, thanks for those. But what I also see is the amount of cheaters is overwhelming the multiplayer gaming platform which makes playing the game more of an adventure kicking out, or jumping from game to game to try to avoid them.

Again, is it possible to get an official answer if something is going to be done against this? As it is now, speaking for myself, I will simply avoid the game until I see an improvement in this area.

Thanks.

Moving this to ye olde thread covering the issue, to give it some more attention. It’s a valid concern.

Personally I’ve never seen the point of being able to just jump into other people’s sessions. I always play either alone or with friends I trust, making my sessions private.

I can try to get this thread some more attention.

I don’t know what platform you’re on but on Xbox this takes seconds to resolve in literally a few clicks.

If you come across a player you don’t want to meet again just kick them, open guide > People > Recently played with (they’ll be at the top if you’ve just encountered them) > Report or block > Block.

You’ll never see them again.

That assumes you have already built up a list of people you like to play with and trust in the particular game. One has to start from somewhere and the jump in can be one way.

Problem is every second coming into the game cheats which makes playing the game second task. Administering users first.

Yes, of course. You could try joining the GZ Discord, see if you can find people to play with there.

Exactly how I feel when I am the host and have cut way back on looking for a hosted game.

What players do in their own, private, closed to public, game is none of my business. But don’t like it when someone with a heavily modified game is the host or a player joins with a maxed-out skill stats and unbelievable stats on zero deaths but 6 figure destroyed machines. I exit and stop looking for a co-op game.

And if I am looking for a “clean” game and run into a cheating host I have very limited choices, don’t play co-op or host a game and risk players joining that are cheaters. If I am the host, I then play the role of admin as well as trying to play the game. That ruins my experience as a player and as a host. But IF I want to have players, sometimes new players, sometimes friends, then I have to deal with the stress of no safe guards of any kind.

But a cheater gets to enjoy freedom of joining any game with no regard to others experience. So, the cheater is basically the one the developers are catering to and not the honest players that abide by the EULA.

Once more it would be great to see here in the forums directly who is playing on which system.

You could see who is playing on your system, send him/her a pm and ask to play together and could find some new ingame-friends maybe.

Although I don’t play with others than my real friends, I would trust anyone of you more than anyone randomly joining my game.

Yes thanks. Today I made a suggestion at the mentioned Discord to open the possibility to create events. Which includes setting rules for own created events among other things.

Edit: It’s here btw: Discord

So the modifications is from PC. And I talked with him that he’s was able to transfer the mods to Xbox.

I don’t like that.

If such a check should really come, it should also only react in coop mode

Which check do you mean?
And: The game is always Coop. Either you play alone or with up to 3 others. There is no other mode.

I mean Anticheat cheack
