I haven’t noticed any difference between wood and steel or concrete for base defense. I tried a double layer concrete wall and it still acted like 1 layer even with a small gap in between. I thought traps might be good for keeping hunters from opening the doors but they’re only good for 1 wave out of 4. I also tried no doors using a low wall to jump over and the machines attacked the corners while I was trying to repair the walls
