Companion: where to search for him?

Read about someone who lost his companion and probably put him in a Plundra.

I lost mine some time ago - probably left him somewhere because he was too irritating.
But now I need him (sorry companion) because of the schematics we have to find - together.
I really don’t remember where I left him (that’s why I don’t have kids).

Is there a way to search for or find the companion and not to check every Plundra?
Could he be dormant in a shed or house etc.?

Check equipment tab (where health packs are) in the plundra and your inventory.

If it’s not there, try going to a companion station and check the available options.

Ok, that’ll be a search I understand.

Have been to some locations with companion station, but not so useful because I don’t have him at the moment.
