This game, as I’ve stated in other posts, is beyond broken. And from what I’m reading, this new “update” has broken it even more. Do you not test your own game extensively before releasing it, and all its ‘fixes’ to your playerbase? People will only defend the game, and stay by you guys for so long before they realize what a disaster they have boughten.
Please, stop portraying your game as a finished product by not having it say early access, or even beta in the purchase screens. You’re screwing over players, and leaving a bad taste in their mouth!

That’s my biggest complaint about this game. If it had been sold as “Early Access”, as it most clearly is, I’d be right on board. I’ve bought, played and enjoyed many early access games (most notably Rust and The Forest) and loved them even in their rough, buggy states. Why? Because I expected things to be broken and that it could potentially take months to fix issues. That’s the expectation one has in that situation.
But when something is released as “complete” and it’s broken all to hell and 2+ months after launch, pretty much all the issues are still there, that’s not a complete product. That’s early access. As much as I enjoy much of this game and play it a lot, the issues are infuriating, the lack of fixes for said issues, and the long periods between updates are very frustrating, and seeing new content to “win over” new players while ignoring long-standing issues day zero buying have experienced since launch is unacceptable in an model other than early access.

Lol, well they want to get your money and don’t want the new players or people considering buying it to see how bad it’s current state is and choose not to buy it. Here’s a better idea, take to YouTube with your frustrations where they can’t delete posts and more people are bound to see!

I’m not a you tuber, (lucky for them) I’ll just consider it a lesson learn’t
What I don’t get is, is the fact this game had a beta but what exactly did they fix during that beta? How could of it even been as possibly as buggy as it is now?!

During the beta, they got players to test the game. Players only had access to the starter island. I’m sure most of the bugs that were found there got fixed, as overall that’s a pretty bug-free experience. It was pretty barren and not much to do outside of the naval base and a couple of bunkers, but the bugs were taken care of. All the serious bugs and game breaking features are on the northern part that wasn’t available in the beta.
Seems like we’re now the testers for the rest of the game.

Me either, just leave comments on the GZ review videos or streams that others may see. Only need an email account.
Even though we are the testers, they still don’t listen to the key issues. This update was the update I would give the devs a second chance and they blew it. I’m glad I’ve got other games that I can play but until the main issues are fixed, I’m not touching this game again.

I understand your frustration, but please understand that you can’t just change a released title to Early Access. I know the game had and has issues that are hard to look over and that’s not good. But you have to also see that the devs are doing everything they can and working as fast as they can without breaking too much new stuff.
This last update fixed headbobbing, which made many players sick. It fixed the starting island, which was turning players off with its barrenness before and promises to also give more life to the rest of the map. It fixes the unbearable panting and heart thumping sound that was introduced in the last update. For me, those are pretty big and important changes. Of course, there are still issues with ammo disappearing. There are crash issues and the inventory is hard to manage.
All I want you to understand is that those things take a LOT of time and effort to fix and the devs are NOT ignoring them. They’re just not yet done fixing them.

The problem is them adding new stuff when really most of the bugs and glitches with the base content should of been ironed out. The new stuff like the photo mode and such should of been added after the base game has been fixed. New players will just get to the same point we are all at and will share the same frustrations. It’s actually adding more negativity to the game in a way

I understand it’s a difficult balance. That starter island was horribly dull. It was a pretty bug-free experience because it had the crap tested out of it during beta, but it was barren and dull until you hit the naval base and got some action. I came really close to refunding the game after about 30 minutes because of it. But a friend convinced me to stick with it, and I did. That needed some work for sure. I’m not too sore about that.
Outside of the head bobbing (which doesn’t bother me, but I know it messes with some people seriously), I wouldn’t realy consider any of those other additions to be fixes at all for people already playing the game. All the bugs are still there. Even on things claimed to be fixed (multiplayer invite thing), the point was missed completely and it’s still as messed up as before.
The only thing this update does is make the starting experience better for new player retention. Once they get off the starter island and start encountering many of the same issues the rest of us have been since launch, you’re going to have a whole crew of new irate players experiencing the same 2+ month old game breaking bugs the rest of us have been complaining about since launch. That’s only a temporary band aid that ensures new players are roped in just long enough that they can’t refund the game.
But the real point is that this game should have been released as early access. Even 2 months and 2 major patches later, it’s still just as buggy as it was on launch day. People still can’t progress in missions. Game breaking bugs are still there.

@SR_Carni Uhm, have you been reading the forums? Like 85% of them are people who can’t even load into their game now, have corrupted saves, and crash continuously within minutes of loading in… they didn’t fix anything, they completely broke the game with this update…

Can confirm. Tho actually loading in would be progress. I hit continue and it blacks out and blue screen crashes the PS4.
I’ve even deleted saved data, same outcome. Not like I really lost anything tho. Cloud save n all. But I tried.
Didn’t Pc have this sort of crash last update? Think it’s xboxs turn next.
The biggest issue I personally have at this point is that we keep getting new features and UI re-designs that add little of practical value to people who are already playing the game (how many times has the skill tree been reworked now without adding such basic things as mentioning a level cap or having any ability to respec?) , but it feels like very few things that make the game actually unplayable for people are getting even getting looked at. There are still multiple missions known to be either automatically broken, or trivial to break, multiple cases of possible save file corruption that can’t be fixed (yes, they helped with that a bit with the backup thing (which should have been there on day one), but that should not be happening in the first place), people not even able to load into the game, and on top of that solo is still almost unplayable unless you stick exactly to the missions in the order they are available and use nothing but hit-and-run tactics (which was not the case on day-one).
The only reason I have any interest in the game at this point is because it’s different and I rather enjoy Sweden (IRL, though the game does a good job of capturing the feel of the Swedish countryside), but that alone is not enough to stop me from telling people to not waste their money on the game right now because it’s in such a terrible state.
I’m a developer myself, I understand that writing good software is hard, and even more so when you have to try and satisfy thousands of people who all have different opinions on what the product should do, but they don’t seem to be caring about a number of the things that if fixed, would make people actually recommend the game as being good enough to be worth buying.
I’ve been around since day one, and can say I’m still at a point where I’ll come back in a month and see how things are then, with the hope that I can finally tell people it’s worth buying (and I really hope for the developers’ sake that they fix things soon, new players won’t come no matter how fancy the game is when it’s 6+ months old with a tiny player base and has to compete with BL3 and a possible new Destiny 2 expansion).

And the problem I have is the mindset that devs are ignoring crucial improvements in order to implement QoL features. The reason some QoL improvements are faster is simply that they’re easier to implement. Devs are not ignoring the important changes, it’s just that the important changes take MUCH more time to implement and have to be tested way more thoroughly. I can guarantee you that they will bring such gamebreaker-fixes as soon as they can. That means: when they are ready.

I think people (myself included) are frustrated by the fact that after 2 months, game breaking stuff hasn’t been touched but new fluff to retain new players is being added.
Let’s say you buy a used car from a dealer. After getting it home, you realize the reverse gear doesn’t work and you can’t back out of your parking spot. So you call the dealership to complain about it. He tows the car back. A month later, he tells you the car is ready. You go pick it up, and he’s put a new coat of paint and new rims on it. You get in, and the reverse gear still doesn’t work. You complain again. Another month goes by, and you find it’s been repainted again, windows have been tinted, and the stereo system has been upgraded. And he even installed a nifty subwoofer that you never asked for, but sounds great. You’re pretty pleased until you get in and discover the reverse gear still doesn’t work. Would that make you happy? You paid your money, but still can’t really use the car you bought 2 months ago. Despite the nice upgrades and paint, the initial problem is still there rendering the car just as unusable as it was when you got it. Would you accept if the dealer told you his mechanics are working hard and these things take time? Paint and the other stuff is quick and easy and looks good. That should pacify you, right?
I know as a dev it’s often easy to knock off the “low hanging fruit” that will be (relatively speaking) quick and easy jobs. Been there, done that. But I tend to squeeze those small QoL jobs in between fixing major bugs that prevent people from being able to use the software in the first place. Much of the game is broken (and even moreso now after today’s patch introduced a slew of new bugs) and a whole lot of people can’t even play it now. Does it really matter what kind of nifty bells and whistles are added when the core experience is so broken? If anything, it’s actually more broken right now than it was at launch.
I’m sorry if I sound overly harsh or critical, but from my perspective (as well as many others’) is priorities being in the wrong place. I can’t say I envy the position you community managers / PR folks are in right now. It’s hard to feel good about something when the mob is at your door with torches and pitchforks.

I agree. That is a great representation.

You do realize that saying all this doesn’t help at all… the damage is already done, the game already has horrible reviews, and now… hundreds upon hundreds of angry players wring forum after forum about the state that the game is in. I’m not saying that they’re never going to fix it, but the fact that in the last 2 months there’s been multiple people reporting the exact same bugs and issues, and they haven’t even mentioned they will be working on them or giving us any updates? Look at that last ‘Letter from the Devs’- when I read that, and saw what they chose to mention as additions and fixes, I knew pretty much nothing would get done about these problems. So what, it’s taken them 2 months now to fix even 1 game breaking issue? Or could it be that they prioritize getting people to buy the game cause they know it’s a failure, so they focus on QoL additions to pull people in long enough for them to surpass the refund window? They could at least post something talking about what they’re actually doing about these issues, cause from what I’ve seen, every letter they post, talks about complete junk that I’ve hardly seen anyone complain about, while the same problems continue to flow in day after day by different players. It’s like they have a list of ‘cool features’ they planned for the game, and are focusing on those and just disregarding the major problems with the game. Working on what THEY want, and not what the community wants.
Anyway, if they actually read a lot of these forums like people say they do, well then I know for a fact that after this update, they’ll realize how important the consumers are to a success of a game, and maybe will work more towards fixing all this mess they just created and keeping people up to date with what they are doing, along with precise timelines as to when it should be expected.

I saw Graham on COTW stream say there is a holiday in Sweden from Friday
Will it be fixed before Friday
