Do Weapon Packs cause lower base ammo availability?

I wouldn’t mind buying the US and Soviet weapons packs, but not at the expense of having less base game ammo. I am only level 7 and struggling to have enough ammo for my Automatgevar 4 and Meusser Hunting Rifle.

How will adding the weapons packs affect the base game?

Weaopn DLCs doesn’t replace vanilla ammo drops. Instead, they add to it.

1st ammo box i opened after buying Soviet weapons DLC:
(note: i had AT-WAD with me and i have Salvage lvl2)

If you don’t have the weapon in your inventory that uses different ammo, e.g 9x39mm (AT-WAD), then getting 9x39mm ammo drops from loot boxes is rare. If you do have it in your inventory, ammo drops are far more common. ← This applies to all weapons in GZ.

Oh, to sustain the ammo consumption, do get the Salvage skill. It helps, a lot.

Well, DLC unlocks the said weapons. Meaning that it will:

  • put 3* variants in your Plundra, with their unique 3* attachments
  • puts some new ammo (9x39mm and RPG rockets) in your Plundra (Soviet weapon DLC only)
  • unlocks their finding in the world, alongside their attachments and ammo
