After a bit of grinding, I finally got the 9mm explosive rounds. I decided to test them out on a car, worked just fine. (1 exploded and instantly killed me since I was at 70 health, my fault because what can I expect from standing next to an exploding vehicle) I went to go test them out on a firebird that was shooting at some random runners at the Granhygget safe house, and some would explode on impact, but some would land and not explode at all, even disappearing after 15 or so seconds. I decided to go somewhere else and try, so I attempted this experiment at the Stora Dyrbo safe house. I shot about 12 explosive rounds into a random wall, and after a bit of waiting they went off in succession. I tried again, and instead of exploding after a bit, the explosives would just cease to exist if I wasn’t close enough to them. I attempted this experiment again in an attempt to kill some runners, and one bullet stuck and exploded, and another disappeared after shooting it at the runner’s front armor plate. I assume this is because the armor plate fell off when the bullet hit it, but it still didn’t go off. It’s really a 50/50 chance that the explosives do(explode on impact/explode after a while) or don’t(randomly disappear) detonate.
I would provide video, but the gif converter won’t let me get anything good and I’ve already spent so much time trying to convert it that it’s a waste. Basic breakdown of video: I shot at a wall, bombs disappeared after 6 or so seconds and made a weird metal noise, did it again and bombs disappeared after a few seconds again but made no noise. Cut to clip of me shooting hunters with bombs and some exploded, some didn’t. Also I got jumped by ticks.
The explosive rounds usually
- have a chance to explore on Impact
- otherwise should stick to the target, blink some seconds and then explode
I guess they have the same issue as shock ammo and for example the apoc hunters grenades or apoc tank mines have: they stick to the place they stop, not to the target, and they vanish before they explode.
- 9mm Explosive Ammo - Fires ammunition that can be shot onto surfaces to plant a small proximity charge with good stumble power. Can also be shot directly at targets but has small chance to cause secondary explosion that deals more damage than surface fired proximity charges.
