Got lucky, and this was 2nd rival weapon that dropped to me. It literally obliterates tanks to distances. Even FNIX tanks. AP is even more effective, but FMI seems to also do the job.
With one clip (extended 17 bullets), you can destroy tank of any class by just little bit looking where you shoot them at. Seem there is no bullet drop, just straight pinpoint accuracy.
I have just spam shot killed tanks trough forest trees with thermal sight on, just empty that clip of AP / FMI rounds, and BOOM.
Edit:
Unless WAI, and the power of weapon is needed later levels of rivals spawning.
I think it’s great. It’s a fantastic support weapon, and it should please the people that said the regular PVG90 was too weak. I suspect, they added these overpowered weapons so we could rack up on kills a bit faster as we level up the different regions. A Level 4 FNIX Tank is tough as nails, the Experimental weapons come in handy then
Any tip on where to shoot them? Through the body, hitting the head, eyes and gas tank? Or is there a better place to hit them? Just looking for advice in advance!
I don’t get how anyone can say that. With an 18-bullet expanded mag, and both FMJ and AP ammo, it kicks solid ass. Only problem is the noise!
On the other hand, the Älgstudsare is great for sniping, but severely limited with only 4 rounds in chamber. Pros and cons…
Working As Intended - as opposed to “bugged”, “nerfed” (underpowered) or “OP” (overpowered).
WAI may be a strange behaviour that some perceive as bugs, but actually is intentional.
I think the normal .50 cal should have a bit of the bullet penetration properties too. Of cause not as much as the experimental version but imho it should hit the tick pot of a fnix hunter if you hit his face or next to it.
What does not fit for me is that the experimental .50 cal is able to kill a tank with 15 shots and with the normal (5 star) you need 10-15 shots to just remove the autocanon. I think the exp .50 cal is perfect, it does exactly what it should and is not op. The regular one should become a bit stronger. To compensate some unbalancing the devs could reduce the drop rate of its ammo by 50%.
I try to attack them from behind, and shooting on the “top” part of the back. I try to avoid shooting on the legs. If shooting at them with a regular assault riffle you can see a more “blue flash” when hitting some part, and I am thinking that is where to hit
