Congrats on getting it. Its an awesome gun and is so fun to try all ammo with. I’ve fallen in love using the .44 FMJ rounds. Little more kick than i like, but up close you can kill tanks and wolves in two to three clips just shooting the armor sections.
Also, the exp HP5 is freaking fun. I got it today and you aim were you want the bullets to go. Lock onto a location long enough and it’ll leave a target for your bullets. Can aim at a jet on the Firebirds and it’ll never miss it. Still think the AI-76 experimental is the best from this update though.
I hear the beeping like its trying to lock on, but the father away the target is, the longer it takes. I tried locking onto something over 100 yards away, and it worked after a sec or two.
Its really good for those either up close or agile ones. The birds go down with them, but I still rather snipe them or use a rocket. Fun gun, but not gonna be a permanent addition to my loadout.
Haven’t used my extended PM71 in a long time because of the Unstoppable rounds bug we had.
But up in the Northeast it was funny when Swedish and Russian machines were packed together.
A few thousand bullets, out of their gun range at a good height and then it was just a matter of laying down comfortably and creating a junk yard.
Haven’t gone through all the compatible ammo yet for the exp. Al-76 and without a 1-4x scope it just start to feel silly to carry around some calibers as it’s only a multi-ammo weapon and not a multi-use one. Would love to use the 1-4x scope, with image intensifier, in single shot mode with some calibers.
So at the moment I’m torn between .270 or 9x39 as the best alround ammo. The only problem is that the particular ammo doesn’t seem to be available except in isolated places? Only a few Lynx’s have given me some 9x39 and I rarely find .270 in ammo boxes at some places.
Well, for that you should carry an empty at-wad and/or maybe an experimental Älgstudsare with you.
With them just having in the backpack you should get lots of ammo for them.
This new system is so stupid, instead of encouraging us to switch weapons depending on what ammo we have we are now incentivised to use the same all the time
The problem is, that it should enable us to reduce our carried weapons to just a few because it can be fed with almost all bullets, but to get all the different ammo types from loot, you would have to carry a weapon for that caliber with you… Or craft the ammo.
And that doesn’t make much sense.
So in the end it’s not a replacement gun for others with the different calibers, but just an addition.
Somehow sounds like two teams worked at different features and put them together to one update.
Team 1: look what we’ve done. A gun for all types of bullets.
Team 2: oh, Well, cool, look what we’ve done: now you just get one type of ammo for the main caliber for the guns you carry.
Team 1: oh, that’s stupid. That’s contrary to what we intended our gun for.
You say all that, but have you tested that if you carry only the 6c AI-76 you will not find other ammo?
I can’t believe that. I now too find bullets for guns I do not carry.
I have just carried around the Exp. Hunting riffle and getting only .270 SP. Guess it is what they hinted in patch notes for Showdown update, only the cheaper version:
Note that to incentivise crafting, Machines will only drop basic ammo types like FMJ and Hollow Point. Other types have to be crafted.
But it’s bugged! Because I left my Exp.50-cal but had a couple of hundred in my pockets and didn’t get any .50 at all, instead 9mm SMG FMJ start to show up everywhere(!), in boxes and loot from killed machines and that wasn’t present anywhere when I used the .50-cal. * Bug #1, no matter how you turn it.
The .50 ammo itself is bugged too because when I started with Showdown update I had about 1.100-ish .50 AP’s. Now after 7 days and extreme use, even started using it in the bases, I still have close to 7,000 bullets of .50 AP. Should have been FMJ. *Bug #2
And finally, been using 5.56 AP the first days when I got my first Exp.Al-76, without any other weapon than the Exp.Al-76 that can use it. Found loads of 5.56, like in 10 to 1 ratio AP vs. FMJ. *Bug #3 (and #4?)
Should we need or not need to carry a weapon with caliber X to find the ammo?
#Bug 1 - .50-cal seems too replace all 9mm SMG ammo ? #Bug 2 - get exclusive only .50 AP when it should be .50 FMJ ? #Bug 3 - get almost exclusively only 5.56 AP when it should be 5.56 FMJ ? #Bug 4 - should we carry a second weapon, like the .50 riffle to get .50 or a Hunting riffle to get .270 ?
Or is the opposite, using a caliber in the Exp.Al-76 (or in your backpack) gives that in the loot,
like 5.56 above ?
I also tested out what happens when I’m not carrying any weapons so I dropped everything for a quick moment, then I opened up a loot box, empty, not 1 single thing in there
