The Runners that Reapers spawn infinitely are the most annoying thing about Reapers.
Please tie Reaper Runner spawning to the Reapers central processing unit, and if the player destroys the CPU, then the runners stop spawning for the Reaper.
Runners are just a pain, they drop nothing worth checking for and give low experience and the Reaper does not need their “protection”.

Agree. And then it kills it’s runners that just spawned. So what is the point of spawning them in the first place.

I think it’s meant to keep you moving instead of just taking cover. You should be forced to turn your head, to run around hiding and fighting the runners while trying to not get killed by his weapons and firestorm (explosive gas).
Of course, most times they are no real danger. You can easily dodge the missiles if they aren’t even just idle.
And of course, most times they get destroyed by the reaper before you destroy them all. But the basic idea is not so bad.
In farmlands I often had the situation that I was shooting at the reaper from inside a barn. There I’m able to take cover very fast and I’m mostly safe against the uranium missiles and the firestorm. But the runners are small and able to enter the barn to force me to leave my cover for a moment.
The basic idea is nice. But how could it be better?
I just thought about replacing them by this airstrike ability from the base assault pylons but with a greater range and more random targeting. But you would be safe against this as long as you are inside a building.
Or what about the apoc tank mines combined with uranium? Well, it’s the same problem like the airstrike thing has. You’re too safe in structures.
An alternative could be a tick swarm. I really hate them disturbing me while fighting other machines. But that could be too much.
Other ideas?
The fact that it calls in wave after wave of runners and then it kills them with the firestorm. You hardly ever have to kill the runners just wait a moment and then the firestorm comes and wipes them out. Maybe hold firestorm attacks to a minimum when it spawns runners and not spawn runners when it make a lot of firestorms.
I’m on a ps4 pro and swarms of ticks many times make the game slow down.
Ok, it would then change the request to add a cooldown for the firestorm.
Currently there is the firestorm attack before the reaper calls in the runners, but many times another firestorm follows the previous one which doesn’t make sense.
So if the next firestorm could just be activated after the runners have been destroyed or at least after a cooldown (except for the final selfdestruction firestorm) it would make more sense somehow.
On the other hand the reaper doesn’t seem to mind of destroying other allied machines. Mine sometimes actively destroyed harvesters that came around… Not just with firestorm, but by shooting them directly!
Like saying with a dark voice “Get out of my way, that’s MY target”.
