Ever since a few updates ago, I guess it was last years big update that fixed the completely OP machines on PS4, the game world of GZ feels quite empty.
Many places that were previously quite well populated with machines, are now completely devoid of any activity most of the time.
Hagaboda in the north, Klinte in the west, Muskudden port complex, parts of Ostervik and the IGA facility for example. Most bunkers too.
A lot of the current machine population is now found in the central farmlands and the south it seems.
While I do enjoy a bit of quiet walking around, without constantly being in combat or getting chased…
But I think that ATM it is a bit too quiet.
(Playing on Skirmish difficulty, no idea if that is a factor or not.)
So, is this an intentional thing?
Is it affected by machine roaming behaviour and/or difficulty?
Are there any plans to repopulate many of these areas?
If no, then i’d like to kindly ask to reconsider this.
Funnily enough - this discussion came up in the discord earlier. From my own timeline, it’s been up and down on machine spawns, but since January update the hotspots and spawns are not what they used to be.
Based on what I’ve heard and read, machines have been reduced to lighten the load on game to reduce crashes in combat and gameplay.
Anl 118 is the best reference I can give as its gone from hotspot to no spot ( and 11 others ) but at least it’s not crashing.
April update will hopefully pad the map out a bit more.
Before the February '21 update, many regions were empty of machines, except Farmlands and South Coast. Now, things are better and almost back to normal. So, update your game, if you haven’t done so yet.
Indeed sometimes I’m feeling home alone during travelling in woods. It would be good to chase some little annimals that gives you health boost after killing them. But now the woods are desolated areas.
