Idk since when exactly, maybe since showdown update. PS5.
When fighting firebirds, it often occurs that suddenly the camera starts stuttering for a few seconds. Not always, but sometimes also more than just once.
Maybe it’s related to the location of the fight, but I have no evidence for that.
Any one else who noticed that?
If possible, please add a short video that shows the issue. I’ll do my best to add one later today.
I’ve had it happen just in the vicinity of the firebird. I was out of range of any attack and walking across an open field.
The screen just kept shifting like an earthquake. It was like the game thought I was under fire / taking damage but I wasn’t. The firebird was on the other side the tree line attacking some runners.
Definitely this behaviour was new to me. I’ve only had it occur since Showdown.
It occasionally happens to me when firebirds are fighting other machines. I had it a lot fighting a vulture last night. I was in the hanger with the jet inside at Overby and two apoc tanks started fighting it. So I joined in and when it flew over and firebombed me it had some serious shake.
What sucked was after I took it down it landed right on top of the hanger. I was f’ing pissed! So I went up on the hill behind the hanger and shot rockets on the roof right under it and actually blew it off the roof with about ten shots. I was so happy until I went to loot it and it was nothing but an Exp.PVG and 5 refined uraniums and a few various ammos. Where is this elusive hammer and Exp Muesser??
The whole screen trembles like in a mini earthquake😁 Only for about 2 to 5secs. At least for me. I pressumed its the shock mines from the firebirds nearby. It’s the same effects but its clearly a bug. Kinda cool though.
I had a very similar situation yesterday in my second world with my poor 3rd character.
I left archilelago, followed the street until the crossroads with the farm on the right.
2 tanks and a lot of hunters and runners attacked me.
After this battle, one tank hang on a garage with one leg inside, the other one leaned at the house right next to it, there were so many collisions that it was very loud and the screen began to stutter or shake almost like described with the firebirds.
So maybe it’s some kind of an collision issue with the firebirds, but without the typical sounds.
In the past firebirds had the issue that they were able to get down almost to the ground which could cause them getting stuck. That doesn’t happen anymore (at least for me).
What if the devs added something invisible below the firebirds that prevents them from going that deep, but may cause some sort of collision in certain situations, which let’s the screen shake?
So it isn’t really subtle, since I can’t say I experienced this on Steam PC. But if it was subtle, I might not have noticed it. Next time am going to pay attention when killing Firebirds.
