I downloaded the new DLC but didn’t get to start a new mission and people who should be at a location in the new DLC with other friends don’t show up for me at all. Is there a way to get the new mission and start the DLC?
Hello, did you buy a DLC?
Hello @Kuroo
When you have purchased and installed the “Fnix Rising” DLC the first mission of the DLC is unlocked/acquired by either…
- Completing all the “intro missions” (Dawn, Sanctuary, The Farm, The Road To Salthamn and The Home Team)
- Going near the location of the first mission of the DLC, located next to a fighter plane hangar located on the road leading from the archipelago region into to the farmlands region (the location is near where the farmlands region starts when following the road)
Doing any of those two should unlock the first mission of the DLC. Have you done any of those two? If you have and the missions still haven’t unlocked let me know and we’ll investigate it further.
Note that we released a patch AND a DLC at the same time and that the new missions are only part of the DLC and not the patch.
Yes, I did buy the DLC.
I have complete ALL other mission before I even gotten the DLC. I have had the game from when it first launch. Still there is no way to access the DLC mission to start it.
Here are the two items you requested. I have been up and down the road still no trigger of the questline. I even made a new character from scratch and still have the same problem. The pics are from the new character still the same issues.
Hey @Kuroo and anyone else who may have this issue
Just got back from vacation and saw that you had replied to my questions.
Now this is indeed strange!
First of all, Judging by your screenshots I assume that you are playing on PC? If you are, would you be up providing us with a copy of your save file? It would help us a lot in our efforts to deal with this issue. If you are up for it please follow the steps below.
- Your save file can be found here: Documents\Avalanche Studios\GenerationZero\Saves
- Right-click the save folder (containing “savegame” and “savegame.bac”) > send to > compressed (zipped) folder
- Go to https://wetransfer.com/ (No account required)
- Click the “…” button and select “get transfer link”
- Add/attach the .zip archive with the save file(s)
- Upload and copy the link
- Send me a DM here on the forum and include the link from wetransfer
Below are some additional questions I hope you can help us with… (If relevant and possible feel free to attach screenshots to your reply so we can see what you see)
-
If you right-click Generation Zero in your steam library and click properties then open the DLC tab, is the FNIX Rising DLC showing as an item there? If it is showing in the list, is the FNIX Rising DLC check-marked and showing STATE “installed”?
-
Can you use prone? (default keybinding on PC is “Z”) Note that prone is not FNIX Rising exclusive but part of the base game June patch even if not owning/installing the FNIX DLC.
-
If you go to the challenges tab in the “player menu”, can you see the challenge tree titled “Scout”?. The “Scout” challenge tree comes with the FNIX Rising DLC while the “Survivor” challenge tree is basegame June patch content.
-
When you made a new character I guess you kept the old one? I would be curious to know what happens if you make a copy of your save file and put that away in a different folder, then delete the save file in the save file directory that the game is using, launching the game and creating a completely new save file and see if any FNIX Rising content shows on it (One of the easiest and fastest ways to check if you have FNIX Rising content is by checking if you have the “Scout” challenge tree, but you can also try to start the first FNIX Rising mission by going to the location of it, or completing the intro missions)
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience!
Slightly off topiic - but a genuine question none the less…
How may are on the team working on the FNIX Rising DLC to console>?
I’m sure there’s a few here that would be interested to know.
I think you need to @ him
He’s PC - so not going to be that direct.
They have their own issues to deal with
Hey @AliasDJA
We are doing our best to bring the FNIX Rising DLC to console as soon as possible and the resources needed are allocated to make it happen. We generally want to release simultaneously on all three platforms and that was also the case for FNIX Rising. Without getting too specific, it was a hard decision, but due to some issues we decided to hold off with releasing on console as we don’t want to release something that we don’t feel is up to the level of quality that we are aiming for.
TLDR; We are doing our best with the resources we have to bring FNIX Rising to consoles asap
Thank you for the direct response, and going into it a bit more. On reflection - I just watched the credits at the end of FNIX Rising from Phil’s Part 5 stream.
All the best from the UK
