FOA Is A Super Interesting Topic

I’ve been doing research on the real FOA, which has led to some very interesting discoveries.

1: The facilities likely aren’t numbered, they’re a part of specific sections of FOA.
FOA 2 is described as general physics, nuclear device technology, electronic data processing, material research, protection technology. Basically non-weapon military tech, which would benefit from being in a large open area for testing.
FOA 4 is described as biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry and radiac, which is exactly what would lead to the Apocalypse machines, so of course its hinted that they came from there.
FOA 5 is described as behavioral sciences, biotechnology and medicine. Which to me hints that FNIX might be some sort of bio computer, with the actual UNIX based coding either being a bridge (some code that ties the bio computer to Sweden’s actual computer mainframe), or being separate from the conscious AI that calls itself FNIX.

2: FOA has done some shady stuff IRL. The entire Swedish Nuclear Program was hidden from the public under the guise of a “Civil Protection Program”, which sounds extremely familiar. FOA has probably done a lot of things nobody knows about. And their current successor, FOI, is also working on a lot of stuff too.

FOA in it’s entirety is pretty much accurately represented in this game, which makes them really easy to see as the villains, because frankly, they were. FOA was the dark hand of Sweden in a way, working on a nuclear program, and making sure Sweden has all the tools of war to defend itself. While FOA was certainly necessary, Sweden came scarily close to having an event like the Cataclysm IRL, if it wasn’t for the fact that AI really couldn’t exist at the time

Wait, what? Really? When?

Just in general, FOA was working on a lot of stuff, some stuff we do not know about even to this day, and likely never will. FOA is the equivalent of the CIA for the US, they’ve done some stuff, but they’ve done a damn good job covering their tracks. Robotics and AI could’ve been on their roster
