Platform: PC (Steam)
Description: Game will crash at random times (sometimes within 30 to 60 minutes, other times within 10 to 20 minutes).
I bought this game during the Steam Winter sales and have had nothing but crashes.
After the game was installed, I played for about 30 minutes. I got to the dock with the large lake, and the game crashed.
I restarted it, was able to get inside the church (solo and complete stealth, didn’t engage combat). So far, it was good.
I did a few fights against the Runners, went further north, accidentally agro’d a Hunter, and died.
After respawning, the game crashed shortly after when I ventured out again. This time I got about 50 to 60 minutes of gameplay.
I started the game up the next day, played about another 30 minutes (had a friend join me about 20 minutes in).
The game crashed like 6 to 10 minutes after he joined.
I restarted the game up, and he rejoined me, I got about 10 to 20 more minutes before the game crashed AGAIN on me.
It’s getting very annoying with all the crashes and no reason why. 4 crashes in 2 hours as frustrating.
My friend hasn’t had many crashes, and he’s played over 70 hours.
Steps To Reproduce: I honestly don’t know how, as I just try playing the game. It seems to crash at random spots and at random times for no real good reason.
Images / Videos: I don’t have any pictures right now, but I can take a picture of the Windows error saying it crashed (including the Event Viewer of what it says about the game when it crashes if that will help).
Host or Client: 2 of the crashes were when I was solo, 2 other times a friend joined me. It seemed when my friend joined me, and the crashes seem to happen much sooner.
Players in your game: Me when I was solo, a friend of mine (Tyme) when I tried coop (for him to join me).

(I’m not sure how detailed of hardware specs you need, so just posting them all.)
Note: This game is on my 1 TB SSD.
I know this is older DDR3, but it will be a while before I can upgrade as I will need to upgrade my CPU, Motherboard, RAM, CPU cooler all at once (which will cost me about $1,000 for what I have in my wishlist).
And I’m not upgrading to Windows 10 yet UNTIL I get the new hardware (which won’t be for a while).
When the game crashed, it was just a Windows popup saying:
"GenerationZero_F.exe has stopped working
Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
- Check Online for a solution and close program.
- Close the Program."
Obviously, Windows won’t ever fix the problem. I looked over both the problem details, but nothing jumped out at me at the cause.
Even looking up the crash in Event Manager didn’t have much, I could make sense of it.
I’m not sure if it even submitted crash reports (I think I enabled that option).
If anybody needs any further information from me about my crashes, I can provide screenshots later on of the errors if that might help.
And yes, I made sure all my drivers were up to date (my GPU driver is the latest).
I’m also not sure what ingame settings I had my graphical settings at when making this post, but I can check later on. I think they were all on High, but I’m not positive.
