I just finished the ‘Empty Spaces’ mission and revived the 5-star HP5. Upon picking it up my game crashed. I reloaded the game and it sadly has been saved to my character so I can not get rid of it. Every time I select the gun in my inventory the game crashes. I have tried dropping it and moving it to storage. Does not work.
Thanks for your report. I adjusted the title a bit.
How strange. Have you tried this with other HP5’s as well or is it just this one?
If you’re on Xbox I can donate you a spare hp5 to test zesiirs hypothesis
It is just with this one. Every other gun works just fine. Is there a way to delete the gun from my inventory? I can’t do it in the game because every time I select it the game crashes.
I play on Pc. Thank you though.
Selecting it is enough to let the game crash?
Does it also happen if you select it while being at a recycling station or the companions inventory?
Yes as soon as I select the weapon the game just crashes.
Does not matter where I am when I select the gun.
At least at your plundra you could drop it to the storage by using “drop all in category”.
Switch to weapons tab and press the appropriate button and all guns will be moved to your storage.
Afterwards just move all your other guns back to your inventory and it’s done.
Later you could try using another character in another world picking the HP5 from the storage and to drop it somewhere else.
I was able to make that work. Thank you so much. At first this would not work because for whatever reason the HP5 was always at the top of my weapons tab. So whenever I switched to the weapons tab it immediately crashed my game. But I dropped some of my other guns and picked them up and it made them the top of the list so I was able to store it in my box. I am free of the evil thing.
Such a weird issue.
Just to get it out of the way; are you or have you used mods of any kind on this save?
No mods. I think I might have caused it by picking up the audio logs too fast. Only thing I can think of. I was not taking the time to listen to them.
Hmm. Doesn’t sound like those elements would correlate, but… Hmm. Wonder if I can poke someone at the dev team about this. They may want a copy of your save file.
We do indeed! Could you please upload your savegame to a file hosting service (dropbox for example) and share the link with us?
Very strange indeed!
This is the save file.
Hey! Our devs looked into this and couldn’t find anything unusual with the savegame, we couldn’t reproduce the crash either unfortunately You might have to revert to a previous backup
I’m hesitant to pick that HP5 up now. Could be cursed.
