Very much so, haven’t been able to get to a safe house past that first bridge yet and got the game on day one.
On Steam, about 7 hours ago, Alvalanche Graham has addressed the community there for with Windows 7 and 8,

So this is a problem they understand and probably frantically looking for the line that is screwing the rest of us up, which I can get behind to support a game like this. Doing what a Dev should, make a game for people and make sure it works for everyone. YAY :3
Similar issues here. I haven’t been able to play this game yet. Very sad.

I’m having the exact same issue. Game worked great prior to last update.
Having exact same issue.
Black screen at start up and then nothing, thought it had crashed after waiting a long time so alt-tab’d to desktop to end the game and noticed the game then started. Can then access all the settings etc but as soon as I try to select ‘continue’ or character the game crashes me to desktop. Problem only since the patch.
I have posted a new report with full details of this.
(UPDATE) I have just upgraded to Windows 10 and this seems to have fixed the problem, all loads and plays fine now!

Alvalanche Team did not test with windows7??
This game is too many bugs.Debugging is important in Japanese game. should imitate.

I have windows 8.1 and the game crash since the last update for me also.
The Stephen GSX workaround work for me as I have also a controller.
But I don’t like use the controller and wait for a fix.
Fingers crossed for a patch sometime tomorrow…
Same issue here, literally unplayable unless i use a controller - If i use anything else it stutters like mad and then crashes (also does with controller but less frequently). Multiple reports sent by now.
I saw a lot of older threads talking about a good amount of people having this mouse issue but there never was any form of positive feedback from the devs and it was closed without any reply months later - this makes me wonder if I have to refund this as it seems a widespread Win7 and Win8 Issue and no fix in sight or communication about it. Disappointing as I just got 2 copies to do co-op. So please take this as your chance to respond with the current state on this as it will decide on how i proceed with your product. And do believe me I want this to be a great game, hence my feedback.
Issues:
- Game does not boot up correctly; Black screen untill any keys on keyboard are pressed
- Game crashes on Starting a new game or pressing continue; Only avoidable by imnmediately pressing and holding any key.
- Mouse is not useable; i have to hold a key and move a controller stick to make the game run halfway decent.
- If mouse is still used game crashes;
- Game still crashing randomly when using controller.

Here’s hoping they learn something from this.
Don’t release a nonessential update before a longer period of holidays. It may break the game and leave it unplayable for a lot of people who looked forward to spend their free time gaming.
Thank you guys for following the bug report format. This seems like a pretty big issue so I’ve gone ahead and forwarded this directly to the development team and they will hopefully check it out first thing tomorrow morning when they come in. Sorry to hear that you guys have run into such a issue.
i had a problem with starting game what i did to solve it was right click on game in steam then go to properties then local files then u need to click verify integrity of game files .i had a 2.1 gb download after but game works fine now even able to complete missions couldnt b4
Just curious what version of Windows are you running for your solution to
work?
Verifying was one of the several steps taken to fix the issues I have been having with Gen0. It has not worked now or earlier either. Others might have some luck, but I have not.

It is now one week post patch, like every one on this thread I have the same set of symptoms in my crash. My operating system is win 8.1. Apparently this problem was acknowledged more than two days ago. If you read through the bug reports you will discover the same crash under several threads, most of which have recieved no acknowledgment at all. When will there be a fix, when will we be given even a modicum of attention so we understand we have not been left out in the cold? I will no doubt one day invest in the upgrade to win 10, but will I still have any interest in “Avalanche” studios. There is a simple answer to this, as each day passes & we are left hanging, goodwill & patience is slowly rubbed away. Leaving in the end a bitter callus of resentment & mistrust of your company & their products!
THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE!
