Description:
Tried to start the game on steam, only a black screen shows up. Can’t even get out of the game. Recently got a new graphics card so I’m hoping its not that. Tried deleting the settings file just in case. I have also tried to reinstall the game but nothing changed

Do you have any 3rd party mods installed (e.g from NexusMods)? If so, delete them to get the game working.
No mods downloaded or installed
Look into the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GenerationZero and see if you have a file called "dropzone" in there. If you do, delete that and try launching the game again.
My guess; its a graphics card driver issue.
Make sure you got the latest drivers installed and active, check with device manager to verify.
Device Manager > Display adaptors, right click your graphics card and select properties; then go to the tab “Driver”.
Compare the version number with the manufacturers drivers list.
If its the same, try rightclick the graphics card in the Display adaptors, select uninstall driver, restart the computer and try reinstalling the driver (with the latest official installer).
