Nice one.
Tried to do the same, but östervik indeed fell out of my focus. I guess I was confused by the many texts and markers there on gysberts map and Just thought, that there would have to be more locations on the compass.
I had such a great time reading through this old thread! All the posts are so well written! It’s the kind of post that reminds me why I love browsing this forum in the first place. It also got me wondering if anyone knows if that René Magritte floating rock is still somewhere on the map? I’d love to go hunt it down if it’s still out there.
I begged the devs to keep it floating, but eventually gravity won
I can’t remember to have it seen yet, so maybe it has been fixed before my time.
Aww, what a shame! I had a photo shoot all planned in my head!
Very nice exploring and triangulating.
No clue, but that’s half the fun! Time to start barn hopping!
At least we see there is a safehouse nearby.
The barn itself isn’t the safehouse, but probably in a farmhouse or shack Northwest of it.
Ahhh. I missed that
You’ve absolutely gone and done it, Kimosabe! I was nowhere near finding this location, I’ve been barn storming all morning! Bravo for nailing this cool Hay-Ven!!!
Yes that’s the barn… most likely…
I have set my a new searching trip. It’s a PC-Diskette run. Now if we go look at the places where Veronika stayed for some time, I, so far found a total of 43 diskettes, but I found none yet at totally random places. I also found 1 on (I suspect) each crafting table.
So if you come across random other location with diskettes, just post a picture and we can try and find them.
Also I noticed that we see only green, yellow and gray phones. Grey phones might be the equivalent for a red phone irl, since i have found not many of those.
Oh, wow! This is exactly the sort of thing I love to do! I need a life! The 3.5” disk has always played a big part in my life, I even have one serving me as a coaster now, so this is perfect for me. Alright, I’m on the case. I’ll stay away from Veronikas hangouts and I’ll also keep an eye out for a differently coloured phone. No new birdhouse locations yet, but perhaps during my search for disks I’ll stumble upon one. You truly set the best challenges @Gysbert
I exactly now what you mean. I use one as coaster at work, too. It’s labeled: “Hot stuff”
Alright, there are two floppy disks to be found at this location. I’m starting off with the trickiest screenshot, as the others might give it away too quickly. Welcome to Östertörn!
Glad there are others who cherish them as objects! I’ve always loved my 3.5” floppy disks. I’d tape over the write protect hole with sellotape to reuse them with X-Copy on my Amiga 600. Some clever friends even punched holes in them to double the storage. I even remember using the big, bendy 5.25” floppies at school on a BBC Micro, it was a little piece of computing magic learning the BASIC language. Happy days!
