Oddly enough this idea came from a dream I had 
A friend and I were in the game world and we had been spotted. Everything went to hell. We ducked into a house for shelter only to find that the bots weren’t deterred. Frantically we looked around for somewhere to hide. I saw a bed with sheets and blanket tucked up, and clamored for it. We got in and pulled the covers up over our heads and attempted to wait out the search. Then I awoke.
Since Gen-Zero is inspired by fantastical childhood games of hunted and hunter it would fit right in to be able to hide inside of closets, under sheets in a bed or simply under the bed itself, in a locker, a hay-bale at a farm etc. Not only would it translate that whimsy well, it would also be a way to deter a huge swarms, especially for solo players.
On a side note that I just had another idea. Tree-houses as look-out/sniper points would be so cool tastefully placed in some spots.
