How Long Did Fashionista Trophy Take For You All?

@AliciaStorm

Full disclosure?

Due to a variety of physical impediments and mental issues, I Haven’t accomplished much in my actual life. Disappointment to myself and family, etc. Getting trophies and achievements in games, especially “hardcore” ones, makes me feel accomplished in some small way, even if I do know they are essentially meaningless in real life. For example, I was one of the first people to Platinum trophy Gearbox Software’s (The people who made the Borderlands series of games) MOBA team based shooter Battleborn. Took me about 1500 hours and almost a year to do. I was…proud? I dunno, I don’t have a lot in my life, I’m highly OcD, and videogames have always filled a void in my life.

Also, my younger brother and I have an ongoing competition to see who can get more Platinum trophies. I was close to his number for a while, but then he started playing tiny little indie games almost exclusively and now he’s at 46 and I’m at 21. Lol.

EDIT: I’m currently at 68 percent of achievements for GZ. Only 8 left to get.

I’m genuinely sorry to hear that, I didn’t know! I understand fully why you want to complete achievements; your reason for doing so is entirely valid. Any feeling of accomplishment, no matter how small, is real and something to celebrate and strive for.

My post was based on my personal viewpoint and preferences, but of course I know that other players see things differently. It’s difficult for me to realize everyone else’s circumstances, so I appreciate you telling me!

I know what it’s like to have mental issues. I have ADD and it does screw up my life quite a bit, though I’ve learned to live with it. I’m not very accomplished in life either and video games fill a void in my life as well. I also know what needing accomplishments is like; I experienced it during my game development education. When I started it I had much lower self esteem than I do now, and thought that everyone else was so much better than me at everything, and I felt like I was barely scraping by. I remember that halfway through the second semester I started to realize that I was actually doing better in school than some of the other students. I got really confused because my natural mindset at the time was that everyone else was better at it than me, and I felt like something wasn’t right. I had a general sense of “How is it possible that I’m doing better than some? There has to be some sort of mistake”. It took about a week for me to accept that it was right.

It might feel like you haven’t accomplished much in life, but you have. Trust me. I am certain there are areas where you have done far more than me, such as in gaming. I have never gotten a Platinum achievement, ever, in any game on any console. You have. That is something you absolutely should proud of!

Do you want me to explain, and honest answer as to why people do for achievements?

Yes please.

@AliciaStorm thank you for the kind and understanding reply. Did you start in June 2020 or June 2019?

I thought in light of my next video being based on this very subject - that I may be able to offer you a perspective from an achievement whore like myself.

Those that complete everything, and those that don’t. Now I’m not going to slate you if your not going to get all of the achievements in a game - far from it actually. I wish I didn’t have the need to obtain 100% - but it’s been the standard since 2007 when I finally took my gamer tag online.

There was a MASSIVE culture on achievement hunting - and still is with the like of smrnov, and Stallion83 going into the millions of gamer score were asked why they keep doing what they do. In summary - it’s just part of the gaming culture they were drawn into. It’s now like an expectation - a standard expected of any game that makes the gamer card. I also, was drawn into this culture trying to get that illusive 0.01% completion ratio. In reality - it means nothing, but to the gamer card it means everything.

Now, there is the other side to achievement hunting that is a little pointless. Now, every game on my card I have enjoyed - and because of which have always aimed for 100% completion across the board. My friend however, who actually got hold of me Sunday ( after 4 years ) because he was struggling with an achievement that he had - and he knew I could help with.

Digging deeper, that’s all he’s done since we parted ways all those years ago. Achievement hunt. Any game, and title, and platform - just sits there with an Xbox and a laptop following a guide. THAT is not gaming. It’s gamer card boosting for the sake of a number. So there are two sides to it, those that just want everything they can out of a game, and those who are content with not.

Makes total sense! I play plenty of games I don’t 100 percent, and I only play games I enjoy (even when they’re frustrating the hell out of me!).

I actually had to pull the plug and go on a Xbox sabbatical for 6 months - because the 14 hours a day, ruined my mental health and general “responsiveness” around the home. Shit hit the fan, and enough was enough. It does become obsessive, but there can be a fun side. Splash damage for instance…hours upon hours trying to get it to unlock. It did, but the obsession took over.

It was only after Diesel reached out and wanted to get the gang back together for Alpine Unrest that I dusted off my controller and went back to Sweden.

I lucked out and got splash damage trophy the first time I ever threw a grenade in Gz in a bunker hallway with 4 Doggos clustered chain reaction explosion.

@FilthyLittleGodPS4 I have good news for you, so i actually went to check the trophies, i began playing on the 18th of October and got Fashionista day 26th of the same month (2 days before Rivals update), so i was actually wrong and got it with way less hours into it, not 60-100 and more between 50 and 70 hours.
I remember i did a lot of looting at the Archipelago and it i got the Trophie when looting crates in a Barn.
Good Hunting.
