Hunters & other Machines Disappearing

The first of these was at the “FLODA CONTROL POINT.” I was in the tower when I won the point. Three of the Hunters flew over near the Storage shed when Flinx blew up. By the time I got down to the ground they were gone nowhere to be found and I looked all around but they were not anywhere.

The second instance happened about 20 minutes later at the “SAFE HOUSE BOO BRUK AB” I was shooting out the north side upstairs window at 2 Hunters. I was using the Acid rounds for the rocket launcher and had killed the first Hunter. The second Hunter I had hit once and dodged back so his fire missed then moved forward to fire. When the second rocket hit him he just disappeared there was no explosion no acid splash nothing everything just disappeared.

A few minutes later on the west side of “BOO BRUK AB” near the containers i killed a Russian Carrier. Then out of nowhere 2 Hunters appeared I equipped the Rocket launcher with the acid rounds again. Running around and Firing I killed the first Hunter then the second one he got me pretty good so I ran away to use health. Then I turned and fired the second round into him. Big explosion way bigger than normal but when it was over the Hunter was just gone, again I looked everywhere around me but he was just gone.

I am playing alone at the highest level by myself in a multiplayer game.

it happens in video games sometimes, :open_mouth:, exploding can cause, flying in the air, falling threw the map of the ground, fall in ocean, maybe just disappear completely, it’s happens to me in this game & other games on my PS4, the worst with me is when I was trying get the 5 gold vintoka rifle from the spenz firebird up North, next to water & beacons, always falling in the water, and ones that did land on ground didn’t have the rifle

When they chrash out in the water you got 4 alternatives.

  1. Make a big jump and press inventory key before you drown and loot.

  2. Make a even bigger jump using any means of transport of your own choice. The faster dirt bikes use to work fine.And press inventory key and loot.

  3. Try some gas canister jumping. But it take practice and impact site is difficult to assess. And press inventory-loot again.

  4. Boring option! Bite down and feel the dejection after fighting the rival only to lose the reward.

The problem is it seems to be happening more and more lately since the last big upgrade.

I actually wanted to create a bug report on this issue, too. In my case, I was doing a base assault when Hunters I just had destroyed suddenly dissappeared right next to me. I saw them, turned away for a second, looked back to them and then they were nowhere to be seen. They were not only invisible, there was nothing to interact with. And I also had a Runner ‘flickering’ in and out while walking by in relatively close distance. This happened to me the first time after the August 2024 update, so maybe it is related to the video memory fix?
This is not related to the physics going wild and sending destroyed machines into a lower orbit.

Maybe that’s the performance improvement of the recent update on steam?

Yes, just a P.S.: I just destroyed two hunters while standing in a door of one of the hangars at the airport in the farmlands. They disappeard right in front of me when I wanted to loot them. It really does feel like the game is simply kicking assets out of the memory.

Well, the problem also occures with active Hunters. I was trying to aim at an Apocalypse Hunter’s fuel tank with my PVG90 and suddenly he was gone. This happened right in front of me, while the Hunter was standig still.

Just some more on the missing enemies while playing.

  1. Between Hammarnas Farm and Boo Church fighting a Harvester he called in help and got two Hunters. Killed one Hunter and then the Harvester and I used used Acid rockets. When I got up to the hunters as I went to salvage the first one he disappeared while I was looking at him. The other stayed and I was able to salvage him.

  2. Then near “SANDBO” shooting from inside the house I fought two Tanks and two hunters. I was able to kill them all using the house as protection. But again when I went to Salvage one of the two Hunters just disappeared.

  3. Near “SANDBO” at the bunker just to the east fought another Tank and two Dogs. After killing the Dogs and the Tank I went to salvage them. The Tank stayed but one of the Dogs just disappeared again.

**. Now for the interesting thing in all three of these firefights the Dog or Hunter that I killed first is the one that disappeared. Everyone else stayed in the game and I was able to salvage them. I reported a tank going missing the other day I killed him first and then all the hunters in a running battle. WEIRD!!

Yes, I can confirm this for Runners now, too. I destroyed a Havester south of Boo Bruk AB, then two Runners immediately after that. When I was moving towards the Harvester to loot him, I briefly looked at one of the destroyed Runners and it simply disappeard. The Harvester was still lying around. But this is difficult to reprudoce. I really don’t see any pattern.

And today I experienced a variation of this in the fields by Angerås church. The difference was they weren’t dead! I’ve seen dead big machines flying away to the stars and had machines falling trough the map, years ago. Or companion or other machines running in to dead machines so they shoot off across the biggest fields. But never this.

A dog just about to make his physical jump attack on me by the truck standing along the road west of the church just vanished into thin air? Moments later in almost the same situation with a Hunter about 10 meters away from me behind the church next to that locked garage poof, gone?

Had a huge number of dogs and hunters during the daily mission “Destroy 10 Harvester…” and what I could see no other alive or dead disappeared.

And today it happend while I was fighting a Hunter during a Base Assault: I was standing right next to him and while I was mid-swing with my Sledgehammer, he simply disappeared. I also had the impression that some of the other Hunters I destroyed before disappeared too. These were the four hunters that will spawn when you damage Command Center enough.

Today, I destroyed a Harvester and then his three Hunter-Buddies. While reloading my weapon and preparing to loot these guys, the two Hunters that were the closest to my position disappeared. That’s the only pattern that I could say I am recognizing. Maybe this helps a bit, but I think I’ll stop reporting this now. :wink:

I had 2 disappearing tanks last weekend in the South region. When I destroyed them, they vanished into thin air. Poof!:dash::grin:

Can someone confirm this it would be good for the GZ-devs.

Today we have this mission again that could be fun and would be enough if it was “Destroy 5 harvesters with hunting rifle”. But it’s 10 (I believe it’s the most time consuming mission of all daily there is?) and it’s not fun when both dead or alive machines goes poof.

But is this observation correct?
I tried to keep count and it went like that until a lot of Runners were called in besides Hunters.
But is it just the last Hunter or Runner in every wave called in by the Harvester, regardles dead or alive that goes poof ?
Don’t think I’ve seen any of the roaming Runners or Hunters vanish into thin air, only those the Harvester summons. Possibly those who already follow the reaper too from start? And as it seems, always the last one.

This issue has been reported internally as well on the closed beta environment,
so the devs know what’s up.

This also happens with basic attacks that the last spawned hunters simply disappear, which has already been experienced several times.

Okey, for me it’s most around the harvester and as it seems the last dead or alive in each wave… Maybe I had some in a base defence.

I was at ‘LILLDAMM Control Point’ when I won and FLINX blew up. I watched three out of the Four Hunters fly through the air and just disappear. It’s still happening in all situations such as ‘Harvesters’ calling in help. At least one of the help disappears before you can loot it. If it’s 'Dogs" two out of three disappear into thin air usually just as you try to loot them. Just wanted to say no change as of yet…
