I loaded Gen Zero up last night and immediately enjoyed the concept. Playing solo I loved the feel of… “OMG, what happened to all the people, and what are all these killer bots doing here!?!!”
I enjoyed the challenge of the next few hours of exploring, trying to figure out the environment, how to loot, manage my inventory… and how and when to sneak, run or fight. I really enjoyed, on my own, figuring out how to use the things just laying around to use to my advantage and survive.
In other words, I was fully emerged and I fully got what the game was trying to do!
Yes, I give this game my “Clunky” rating, in fact I had to go back to Steam and see if I missed something about this game still being in Beta, but of course it is advertised as a standard game.
As I do my homework before buying a game… not only did I know about the bugs, I also know the Devs are rolling out a LARGE patch this very week with over 200 fixes! This weeks patch, the acknowledgment and communication from the Devs about this coming patch, is why I went ahead and bought the game now.
So… for as long as the Devs hang with this game and keep working on it to make it the very best it can be, I’m going to fall in behind them to support them in ALL their efforts!
Of late I’ve been looking for a solo and multiplayer game that offered something other than the current typical “Battle Royal” theme. In fact, for where my head is right now, I enjoy the idea of sneaking around on foot and NOT gun blazing to survive, this game fits for exactly what I was looking for. And I really look forward to trying the multiplayer aspect soon, as it will be nice to find another human in this world of killer bots!
So to the DEVS… thank you for making this game, I see your vision of what you wanted to capture here! I am behind you and support you fully… PLEASE stay with this for a while! I honestly think you have ALL the parts here for a killer AAA game! I really look forward ( hopefully ) to watching Generation Zero grow into what it’s designed to be… a new, unique, beautifully immersive tactical survival game!
