I wish loot didn't carry over from one world and character to another

I hate that I did one server with friends and I want to start a new clean slate in single player but I can’t even store stuff because I have so much, the game is good but I can’t even play it unless my friend gets on it because it is his server

There are no servers. Games are peer-to-peer. He hosted, but you can play your own game. Only the host’s progress is tracked. Even if you played the game with a different, more progressed character, you’d only see his missions when you’re in his game.

I totally agree with the title of the topic.
For my other worlds I would have loved to have just the initial stuff… So nothing but the initial dlc-weapons and items. Well, for the DLC stuff I had other wishes, too.

before switching world and characters, use one character to remove everything from your loot storage. Even when the character is overweight you can still go from locker to recycle station. Once you remove everything, exit back to main menu. Change worlds and characters. When you want to switch back… Take all the stuff that the new character collected. Only takes a small effort.

Yeah, mules have always been a workaround for different things. And it became easier to use them now, as they can now move any time. And even use fast travel.

But it’s still an effort.

It is a way to do what you are asking the game to do just for a few that want a custom restart. And it preserves the stats of your game that a complete delete game files does not provide. By just removing the “loot” and keeping it to the character used in the old world, you can truly have a different world with their own character and own gear.

This also allows you to go back where you left off if you want to go back to the old world. Those that want to do so can. You can also save the game file today in another folder and just restart by deleting them from the game folder method. And you can still go back to the old world and character if you choose. This is how it was done before there were choices to start a new world in game.

There are a few options for the few players that want to customize a restart have without it being done in game.

Yes, I see, but these ways are also limited.
If you don’t have a fourth character as mule, because you play them all actively, it doesn’t work.
If you play on Xbox, you’re not able to make manual backups of the files.

Nevertheless, these are the only ways for GZ. :+1:

thank you all for the ideas, I will do that I guess, but I wish it wasn’t a feature
