Immediate feedback on new Soviet machines and machine "faction" war?

So this will be both praise and complaint about something that might actually be a bug instead
in other words feedback in general.

The Pros

I love the new machines.

  • The Lynx/ the roller is a very interesting design I would say it’s equal to the dogs but easier to destroy due to its wider sizes but this is countered by heavier weapons damage. I like the variety
One variant comes with a circular saw, i would like to see how that works

  • The Wolf honestly looks awesome and the way it stands up and in four legs from it’s rolling position is amazing

I find it interesting to see the machines attacking each other

The Cons

The machines, at least the wolf is way to easy to take down (in my opinion) It’s sporting a lot more firepower so it could be that it focuses more on offence instead of defense, like a glass canon,
But I’ve found it hard to get it to attack me sometimes

  • For the possible bug: when the Soviet and Swedish machines starts attacking each other and I’ve stood at a far distance just observing I have encountered several occasions where, at least the Swedish, machines have been aggravated on me even tho I’m much further away than they should be able to detect, I guess it has something to do with their combat AI

Edit: I’ve noticed that there are both scout and soldier classes of the Wolf

Immediate negative. I just watched a wolf take out a rival harvester with ease and as I suspected would happen, my region lost two levels worth of XP. Can you please, please, pretty please with whipped cream and a cherry on top, make the robot on robot wars region-XP neutral?

That seems like a huge oversight lol

I Never thought that I will at some point have to defend my 64 fat rivals

Soviet Machines destroying Rivals could be huge problem especially if you try to spawn the reaper… How whould they react to the reaper?
I wonder how this could be solved. Have rivals become their own faction that is neutral to the Soviet Machines?
yeah, this is a problem that needs a fix

Ah, well, it’s worse than I thought. The Soviet tanks can also become rivals so there we have even more potential for region XP chaos.

Also, they react very badly when a reaper is about. The Soviet squads were rolling in from near and far catching us out from behind sometimes when fighting the reaper. The worst was in the north west Marshlands where 4 wolves and more than I care to count of the minions joined in and didn’t care much who they were attacking.

I just watched 2 Tanks and several Hunters fighting various Lynx and the Wolf.
Its very funny to watch.

But some might prefer an enviroment where there is less noise, and where all enemies are focused ONLY on You.

That’s why the whole concept of events and setpieces in the game only happening after certain prior events like the game ending is needed because as of now, there are like 5 different time frames all interlacing and merging in ways that are confusing and break the story

How come the Soviet invasion happens later on in the timeline yet all the Soviet set pieces are there as soon as you start the game?

I agree, Soviet machines should only appear after the player finishes the main missions.

Essentially, as you progress through the story in the Archipelago and South Coast you begin to get hints that the Soviet Union realises from observations that Sweden is in trouble and offers help.
As you keep playing and moving north you can sort of assume time goes by and that either the Soviets take matter into their own hands and go in to “help take back” Östertörn or that they have had diplomatic contact and been asked for some sort of disaster assistance.
However, if you ignore that progression and run straight up for the big prey then, well yeah, you’re going to see stuff you were possibly not meant to see just yet. But that is no different from kicking off any of the main DLCs before finishing the main missions. It’s up to you to follow the geographical progression.
And speaking of progression, this is where the developers could help out. Once you crack open the first bunker command center, Vesslan, there is little to guide the player to what should really be “the next” bunker, Minken. Most new players I have joined run straight for Sorken and get way out of their depth. Some guidance and encouragement towards the next area would be helpful.

Go to lithorp
It´s a total madness between the machines.

Do you mean LIttorp at the Northern tip of the forest region?

I’ve got exact opposite - FNIX machines (gang was FNIX class mix of hounds, hunters and one tank with couple Apoc Hunters) ignored me, but as soon I’ve entered Wolf’s detection zone, I was dragged into combat mode. Wolf had an extremely high priority for me than bang-ganging swarm of hunters and runners in melee range, because it preffered to shoot me observing them 100+ meters away into woods, than focus on immediate threat. Thankfully smoke actually works on it, indicated by changing target until I stepped into clearance between clouds, so Wolf barraged me again. How smoke will work on soviet vehicles - I have yet to test, but preliinary results are promising.

Edit: the record of that encounter

Yes, i caught 4 wolfs in that area 2 of them together,4 or 5 Tanks, many hunters, 2 harvesters and many Lynxs, all fighting each other.
It was a mayhem .

Yeah, having the same issue with suddenly entering combat when the two factions are fighting each other, even when I’m far enough that I couldn’t reliably attack them and am prone doing nothing…
