Is the Experimental AG4 better than the AK-47?

I’m curious which weapon is better, as I want to be using the best 7.62 mm weapon. Thanks!

I think that the AI76 is better - less recoil, larger magazine.

I use AG4 mostly for fun on my “Borg” character

Well, yes, but much less accurate over distance. I find it goes through ammo too quickly and doesn’t seem to take them down any quicker. With your AG4 I can take down a tank at 300 metres, single shot, or double tap and hit the components - tracer has burned out at that distance because you don’t get the fires (or at least can’t see them). But they do go down.

I’d say it’s all down to how you play! The EXP AG4 gives you the benefit of fighting multiple enemies and being able to reliably damage all of them, with that consistent burn damage. But when it comes down to raw DPS the AI is a monster with its burst fire and ability to stay accurate when blasting rounds into components. Though as @Bootie says, the standard AG4 is your best friend for long range combat having some of the best damage carry through. As always though, it’s all up to player preference for load outs
Personally I have a hard time putting down my AG5, it’s so dang accurate in full auto and the base damage shot per shot is just too good to give up!

Yeah, I use the AG5 for longer range combat, so I feel like the AI would be a good option for me, considering how quickly I burn through 9mm rounds. Thanks guys!

One option would be to take the Ag4 for distance and burn and use the AK instead of an SMG - but I find a ton and a ton of 9mm SMG ammunition, and only enough 7.62 to keep one weapon supplied. Where @0L0 finds all that 7.62 is a mystery!

Bizarrely, at close range my 9mm 5* SMG is as effective as anything in the game, and easier to use.

First of all - Salvage skill (2x)

Then we kill a lot of Prototype and Military Hunters + all types of Tanks - voilà.

The clue is in that “We”! If you all pick up something different, then you can of course exchange it amongst yourselves so everyone gets what they need (taking it that you all have different armament strategies!)… Harder alone.

As I wrote before - You should do more coop

I like the exp ag4 cause it shows me where those damn runners went in the night. I hate it when they hide in the woods and as long as they are on fire I know where to shoot

Both the al76 and ag5 are still nice guns, imo finding ammo for the ag5 is the biggest problem in game right now, thats why I dont use it much and stick with the exp ag4 for now.

Sometimes I feel that I play some different game

When I have AG5 equipped I find plenty of FMJ in boxes and Tanks drop A LOT of both kinds of 5,56.

With my “Borg” character, with AG4 and AI76 it is the same, but with 7,62.

There really is a difference in the ammo algorithms for each player. I go through “droughts” where no ammo of a certain type shows up - last week it as .50 cal. I had four rounds left, no matter what I shot. For months I had a 7.62 drought so that two packs was standard, three was riches. Today is the same - 7.62’s gone walkabout, and I’m having to use the 9mm SMG, even taking on Tanks at distance because I’ve got a ton of it, and nothing much else. Here is a Rival Hunter:

Here is another Rival Hunter:

For the first time ever, however, Tanks are dropping weapons - never had it before in 400 hours of play. It’s the algorithm which is random and everyone’s is different…

I hate those .44 ammo drops too. All those fnix hunter and 99% of the time they drop .44 ammo. And I really dont use that gun at all.

I already hate that only use flechette guns too. I want more variations.

FNIX Hunters always drop either .44, HEDP or shotgun ammo.

That looks like a military hunter btw. Just saying

Yes, that is a Military Hunter.

Yeah, I expected the RIvals to carry something different, but they mostly don’t. The bizarre thing for the FNIX Hunters is no one uses that much .44, not 60 rounds at a time, and they don’t always fire it, or maybe even ever! So Harvesters are a waste of time, and so are FNIX Hunters - which reduces the number of machines it is worth bothering with. If a Harvester looks like easy meat, I’ll take it down (just to watch the armour plates come off), but otherwise won’t bother, and FNIX hunters only when they ambush me and I have to fight to get out.
