I didn’t see another topic discussing this. But after the Skyfall update, I was limited to spawning the Reaper and now the Vulture to only 3 regions (South Coast, Farmland and Forest). Is there no other way to spawn these Tyrants in other regions? Or was there something I missed?
No.
No lvl3 base, no hatch, no tyrant spawn.
That’s sad but thanks for confirming👍
That’s not sad, my friend. The Reaper and Vulture are little more than bullet sponges- and they don’t drop anything of value that you can’t get elsewhere (EDIT: except for the laser rifle- and that’s not some game- changer). If you play the game as it’s laid out to be played and never go after the Reaper of Vulture, you’ll get all the weapons and attachments offered in the game soon enough. I wish it were otherwise, but that’s the way it is.
Since the control points started being added, those same 3 regions I avoided playing in due to not wanting to play a base building/defend game. Had 5 other regions to play and hunt reapers. Now if I want to hunt tyrants, I am forced also to play a base building/defend game to get to that point. In the 3 regions I have been avoiding.
Well, there is the experimental meusser (laser) and the experimental sledgehammer as well as some experimental apparel which you can only get from tyrants.
unless you still have reapers else where before the update, i still have one in the apelalego region
Not sure why you mentioned the laser rifle again, as I had already edited my post prior to your posting. That said, neither the sledgehammer nor the apparel are game changers in the slightest. While the Reaper and Vulture can be enjoyable to tackle from time to time, they remain bullet sponges which soak up ammunition and give nothing to justify the expenditure of it. I’m just one guy to be sure, but I’ve seen one- possibly two- players using a sledgehammer for a few minutes in- game, and I have yet to see anyone wearing the experimental apparel. Now, if the Reaper or Vulture dropped something outlandish- like say, a jetpack or a raft- then that WOULD be real justification for taking them on.
I just wanted to list all.
You’re right.
I even didn’t unlock the experimental meusser yet.
Currently there isn’t much that encourages me to play GZ… Just for a new weapon.
The vulture isn’t that bullet sponge in my opinion. It’s lot more a challenge to fight than the spongy reaper, but it’s not hard to kill. I liked fighting it.
Regarding the experimental sledgehammer:
There was a time where the melee weapons where more important to have. Now it’s just run&gun.
It never used it seriously, although it took me about 2 years to get one.
But, I indeed use the experimental gloves on my primary character.
Finally… The new tyrant system made bases and rivals having more sense. Spawning the tyrants now is a nice trip. But like you said, there isn’t much of worth doing that again and again.
There must be a repeatable benefit. A rare ressource or consumable which you just get from them, like you just got uranium for doing base defenses in the past, where just one resistance base was there.
Or what about a high chance for a random augmentation or a still missing schematic (that’s more for newer players), like we only could get the experimental ammo receipes from base defenses in the past…
Or there could be new 6c apparel crafting schematics, 6c Attachments or something similar. More unique stuff with a bad luck protection against the risk of getting the same too often.
Just more or more useful stuff than just two unique weapons and some cool looking apparel with any additional effects.
The reaper alone was worth fighting it time and time again. The difference is fighting a reaper anywhere you would like on the map, the whole map. When the reaper was added, rivals played a different part in the game, you had to keep them in check if you wanted to spawn a reaper. And even then the rivals yielded schematics and exp weapons, the reaper adding the hammer. Not sure how the rivals didn’t make sense back then?
Now, two tyrants in the same region at the same time. You dump tons of resources to gain tokens, then dump even more resources to fight the tyrants. You can’t hunt machines in other regions when you have to grind in one of the 3 regions to spawn rivals and have a base spawn and level them up. Doesn’t take long you run out of machines to destroy in those regions so you have to wait for an area cool down cycle.
2 of the augmentations required 10 destroying Reaper & Vulture 2 unlock gold, so that is a reason to do them over & over again, & as for the experimental from the Vulture, just get one from multiplayer peoples 2 give you one
On a temporary basis only. Once you have those augmentations, there’s little reason to pour ammunition down that drain.
