It's silent anno 2025

Is this really a sign of a dead blooded game?

Lots of people see possible developments.

Humm??
What are you talking about?

If by dead you mean there will be no further development, yes.

I really wanted to know what “developments” he was talking about.
Because I only see a dead game left with a buggy last update.

I meant a lot of people/users have ideas how to keep this game alive.

I play Far Cry for example. There’s a lot of interaction with people - that’s great.
Why not implement such action in this game?

There’s already a multiplayer mode

I thought you had read a lot of comments and “ideas” at least in the last year.
There were many, they dont care, and not only that , they did a bad buggy last update and did not fix it, 5 months later its obvious what their stance is.
No one that had the game since the first years could expect the development of the game to last forever, but fixing the bugs from their last update is something any reasonable dev studio would do and a fix was logically expected to us, that was not the case.

You should expect them to fix that usually, yes.
But a company will also look at the efforts needed to fix them.

If there are bugs they really don’t know how to reproduce or to fix them without bringing in new ones or if it costs too much time and money to fix them… The company won’t do it… Although the devs probably are willing to do it.

So I don’t blame the devs, nor SR, but avalanche.
But that’s just my opinion.

Regarding the topic maybe he thought about modding by the community to improve the game?
Or simply actions of the community to create other content or experiences by starting role play sessions to write their own stories?

Idk… Modding still isn’t officially supported… Maybe possible on pc, but not on consoles.

Well the thing is, when things like this happen, then its supposed to happen one of 2 scenarios.
1- They fix it
2- They dont and the earlier version will remain as the one valid

When something works you dont break it, and if you do you either fix it or leave the earlier settings active so that the product keeps working, this applies to anything, from code, to food to machinery.

WHY they failed to follow these simple rules IDK.

it gives a very bad name to the company.

I agree. It’s supposed to be the way. Or it’s the way WE would expect it.

In case of games or software in general and depending on the way how the devs work(ed) it’s not always as easy as it sounds.

Especially in case of GZ I think they just weren’t able to undo the update. Too many dependencies.

At least in the end there was someone who decided to do nothing. Neither fixing nor rolling back. And this kind of decission isn’t done by the devs.

And yes, in the end it’s not a good light shining on the company in total.

I don’t get it. I admit it is a great game, but I have 100’s of games that aren’t playable anymore. I was obsessed with Silent Hunter III long ago. And so many other sims. Over and out. Yesterday we thought to order our years long favourite tea. Out of production, sorry.
Just grin and bear it. Nothing lasts 4ever. Move on.
