January Hotfix released (Steam, consoles soon)

The hotfix just has been released.
At least for steam, for consoles it should follow “very soon”.

My first thought was: cool that they heard us and that we now can get the new ressources by rivals and tyrants, too. But then I read, that phosphorus just can be loot from tyrants. Phosphorus, which is needed for almost every structure of the category “wall”.

So, if you build your first base during or after “building blocks” mission, you still can’t build any serious wall…

To get your first phosphorus you need to:

  • do base defense missions without any walls
  • level your regions to get rivals, kill enough rivals to get enough FNIX or soviet data tokens to be able to spawn a tyrant, do a hard base assault and spawn a tyrant, kill the tyrant.

And that with a … if you’re in a fresh playthrough… character that has some low level (at least below 25) and probably doesn’t have any experimental weapon yet, nor all the skills and crafting receipes to be able to do that by the way.

Thanks for adding new ways to get the new ressources, but this doesn’t sound like a good solution. AND: it’s still not explained during building blocks mission how to get the needed ressources for building a base (with walls). It just says: build a base.

At this point Therese should say some words like

“Ok, I see that this location is good for building drills. With a drill you’re able to get phosphorus, which is required to build walls around your base. Go, build a drill and activate it. But be careful, it will probably attract enemy machines, so defend it with your life. By the way, other locations may enable you to build other structures for other special craftingressources.”

That we can get these ressources by killing rivals and tyrants at this point isn’t important to know and should be discovered by doing it.

What are your opinions and experiences?
Any still existing issues or even new ones?

They still haven’t fixed the ‘save game’ issue. I recycle tons of stuff. Quit the game, when I come back all the stuff I ‘recycled’ is back in my inventory and God only knows where I’ll be starting the game again. I like to base myself out of the airport because it has most of what I’m looking for in the safe house, I restart the game and who knows where I’ll be starting from and I still have all the stuff I recycled. I’ve even left the game running and wandered off for about an hour and still happens…

Did the save-icon in the upper right corner appear before you quit?
How do you quit? Exit to main menu and then quit the game or do you directly kill the game to get to desktop?

On PS5 I learned always to go to main menu before quitting the game. I never had the issue you described…

Does it occure when playing alone/ in your world or just in multiplayer as client?

Good that they increased base defences’ health, but by how much? 10%? 50%? Real numbers would be useful over this vaguery.

Maybe unrelated but todays dailies didn’t count properly… reminded me of former times when we had those problems…

At first the machine count didn’t work and I had to kill way more prototype machines than 10…
And finally the “kill 15 machines in the marshlands” seemed to count correctly but the weekly points were missing so I ended up with 3… *mildgolfclap * …

And maybe unrelated, too, but I encountered massive framerate drops during a fight with a firebird at Stenmyra after the first release of its explosive “shockwave” bomb attack…

Did miss it was a patch out. Jumped in and before the daily mission there was one new of the weekly ones. Did the 3 daily ones and… what?! Only 3 points in total? All weekly progress went away?

One of the missions was to destroy 15 machines in Marshland, so I went to my “triangle of death”.
And got a HUGE fps drop in the middle of fighting, singel digit fps.
Praying that it was just a one time thing and that garbage didn’t come back now?

Well that seem to be nearly the exact problems I’ve encountered !?

“tested well with our smaller beta testing group,”
Lol simply LOL

So what about the Companion does he still disappear?
That is a medium gamebug issue, using the companion gets almost impossible

And they did nothing to change the “new” over encumbered issue i see…

I play on PlayStation 4, I haven’t had auto save by opening and closing the plunder box for over a year. What I do is fast forward to the safe house location I want and then and then fast forward to that location again. That way I am assured it will end up at the safe house and want and save any transfers I made.

Hmm… gave it a try and killed a L3 Proto Hunter Rival and got 1 Ethanol and 6 Phsphorus from him…

Interesting. Did they confuse something?

It would make much more sense indeed.
For the refined Materials we have a high risk during the base defense, that our input materials and the output get lost by destruction. So a higher risk and lower chance (tyrants are just few) by getting them just from tyrants would fit. :+1:

Did the missions, Easy, Medium and Hard. 3 points total for all three missions. At least this time they didn’t screw up multiplayer, but this makes the missions not worth doing. If you can only get 21 points a week, and need 36 for Tank rewards, what’s the point? GJ. guys. W2G.

Honestly… Who cares about fmtel?
Most time since it was introduced … And it already got changes in about one update since then … it didn’t work stable or as intended. And the ones that complain about it mostly are people who played for that long, too.
And finally, the rewards aren’t worth the effort for long time players, as they usually already have the strongest guns.

It just would be interesting in my eyes if we would get good amounts of the new ressources, uranium, maybe some experimental ammo, a 4c companion armor, a good amount of adrenaline or a guaranteed drop of a gun that we don’t already have.

I had that yesterday too, I can’t remember at a Hunter level right now, there was also exotic material there, not much, but there were probably 3 or 4 parts.

Seems so, tested it with another Rival today (L3 Speznas Wolf), 4 Ethanol and 4 Phosphorus… wow…

I mean… that’s just enough Ethanol to e.g. craft ONE(!!) advanced first aid kit… one… :man_facepalming: (in addition to yesterdays stuff of course…)

And todays assignment… well yeah… I noticed that there are no points shown that one gets from them ? After finishing two of them I got 1 point for each of them…

Btw “killing a Harvester with a handgun” usually netted one with 3 points before the “fix”…

Real fun…

I mean it’s not that I’d need those things but it was/is at least something to do and the materials, etc. fill up the FMTEL reward box nicely… :man_shrugging:

If you’re not doing FMTEL missions, what the **** are you doing in the end-game? It seems that just hunting rivals, doing defense missions, and taking down FNIX bases is going to get really boring, really fast. Talk about low expectations. At least the FMTEL missions give you something different to do each day. I didn’t realize you were that boring, Mad.

I don’t always have the time to play each day for several hours. If I’m not able to reach tank lvl by playing just on 3 to 4 days, I don’t see much sense in doing these missions.
Instead it’s more fun to come into unexpected situations or fight some nice battles instead of hunting 15 cars or crafting 5 first aid kits.

I don’t even know If the “do 7 base assaults” mission still is in the cycle.

I always find something to do.
Actually I’m continueing my second world with my third character (now lvl20), as it was blocked until after showdown update. It’s quite a new perspectives compared to my first playthrough more than 3 years ago.

And there are still the procedual missions that I can do. Btw, I always had that feeling… But now I was proven right. I came to the location of this FNIX base in the farmlands which is one of the places of a procedual mission. Before showdown update its turrets where indestructable.
In my 2nd world this base isn’t there. I believe it will appear when the mission is in the cycle next time. But obviously it’s a bug that this base is always there after it once appeared.

That’s an entirely different complaint I have about the missions.

Ah. You’re a casual player.

And no, they don’t have the 7 base assault mission in the rotation, still. There are a few new ones, which is nice, but they screwed up the point values for them, so now no one can get Tank. And since it’s the major thing to do in end-game, screwing that up has made their game, post-main plot quests, less attractive to play. It’s hitting a flat note on the last phrase of the song.

Yes, they fixed the turrets for the weekly base infiltration mission. Hopefully, they haven’t broken them again. I haven’t done this weeks respawned mission.

That always sounds respectless to me.
I’d prefer: I’m a father, husband, employee and have about 35 years of experience in gaming … And a real life. So, I just don’t have the time to play all day long each day.

Maybe I’ll give it another try in the next days. And I’ll keep an eye on this base infiltration mission.

I agree with that, roaming the world discovering new things is more fun then Fmtel missions to me.
